Here is a look at the interception leaders through Week 4.
Bryce Kania | Chatham (6)
Kania propelled himself to the top of the leaderboard with his performance this past weekend. In a 35-32 victory over Monville, Kania picked off the opposing quarterback twice while returning one or a touchdown. The 6-foot-4 sophomore uses his size and speed to his advantage and does a nice job breaking on the ball. He now has three straight games in which he’s recorded an interception.
Bryson Knight | Overbrook (5)
Knight recorded his fifth interception of the season this past weekend as he picked off the Haddon Township quarterback in a 42-7 victory. The senior defensive back now has three interceptions in the past two weeks and has recorded a total of 33 tackles and two forced fumbles through five games. Knight is an aggressive corner who shows good ball awareness and has the ability to quickly change direction while shadowing a receiver.
Donovan Swasey | Clifton (4)
Swasey has now recorded an interception in four straight games for Clifton as he picked off Passaic quarterback for a 30-yard touchdown this past weekend in a 41-16 victory. The touchdown was actually Swasey’s third on the season as he returned two interceptions for touchdowns in back-to-back weeks to start the season.
Richard Cirigliano | Bergen Tech (4)
Cirigliano joined the top group this week as he recorded two interceptions for the second week in a row. He picked off the Ferris quarterback twice in a 41-22 victory on Saturday. Girigliano shows good coverage skills as he does a nice job keeping his eyes inside and making a break on the ball.
