Cajon narrowly beat Rancho Cucamonga 28-27 at home last week in a very good win. The Cowboys did a great job keeping the offense balanced all game. Their success in the passing game was largely due to the receiving effort by Ford. He caught 9 passes for 116 yards. He had no touchdowns but Cajon was able to move the ball downfield because of Ford. It was Ford’s biggest game of the season by far and he should be a key part of the offense going forward.
Quincy Herron, Helix, 2023
Herron had a nice 78-yard touchdown catch against Servite which ended up being Helix’s only score of the game. But he is on this list because prior to the game, his mother Anita, who had been serving on the USS America for 22 months, surprised Herron in what was a touching moment that brought members of the crowd and television viewers to tears. Herron was understandably emotional and in the first quarter he caught a touchdown to make his night even more special.
I’m not crying we’re all crying !!! @HelixFootball Quincy Herron was surprised by his mom Anita who has been on the USS America for the past 22 months just moments before kickoff vs @ServiteFootball. pic.twitter.com/nti8OBDh68

Lyndon Ravare, Silverado, 2022
Silverado got its first win of the season in week five against King High of Riverside. Quarterback Ian Wilson gashed King through the air and on the ground. When he was making plays in the air, it was mostly to Ravare. Ravare caught four passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns in the win. The 164 yards are a season-high for Ravare, who leads the team with 420 yards on 20 catches with three touchdowns on the season.

Jacob Sloan, Mission Bay, 2023
Clash Orsborn Clash Orsborn 5'11" | 165 lbs | QB Mission Bay | 2022 CA has been putting up numbers for Mission Bay since his sophomore season at quarterback and he did so again in a win against Orange Glen. Sloan was his top target against Orange Glen, catching seven passes for 109 yards with a touchdown. Mission Bay does an excellent job spreading the ball around and has four receivers with over 170 yards on the season. But it’s clear that Orsborn likes throwing to Sloan in the redzone. Sloan leads the team with 10 touchdown catches and has 446 yards on the season.
Thank you coach, big win last night. https://t.co/O1IxbC4pgN

Peter Vanis, Loyola, 2022
Loyola survived a tight game against rival Mira Costa. The Cubs won the game because it made big plays in the passing game and forced a clutch turnover. Vanis caught two passes, both for touchdowns totaling 106 yards. Late in the game, Loyola’s quarterback threw the ball to Vanis in the backfield who made multiple defenders miss and ran 68 yards for a touchdown to put the Cubs ahead by 10. Vanis is Loyola’s leading receiver on the season and has an offer from Benedictine College.
Senior QB Xavier Rice and WR Peter Vanis link up for the touchdown! 👏
