Ben Botelho, Temecula Valley, 2022
Temecula Valley is off to a nice 5-0 start and had its best win of the season against Redlands East Valley last week. Botelho completed 71 percent of his passes for 311 yards and three touchdowns for the Golden Bears. He spread the ball around to seven different receivers and was aided by the effective running of Ryan Sanchez which opened up passing lanes. Botelho is only 6-feet tall and has a high release point. He would be a good junior college quarterback if he chooses to continue his football career.

[player_tooltip player_id="147721" first="Boone" last="Lourd"], Brentwood, 2024
Brentwood was led by quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="25153" first="Cole" last="Lourd"] for a couple years who is now playing at the University of Texas. They immediately transitioned to his younger brother Boone and the drop off hasn’t been as big as expected. Lourd completed 75 percent of his passes for 129 yards and three touchdowns against Carpinteria. Obviously he could have put up bigger numbers if the game weren’t out of hand so early. He is a promising young prospect and he has a big game this Friday against Palisades who I think is one of the better teams in the City Section.

[player_tooltip player_id="25258" first="Brandon" last="Rose"], Murrieta Valley, 2022
Murrieta Valley went toe-to-toe with Norco and it was a battle between two of the Inland Empire’s best quarterbacks. Rose had the better numbers with a 75 percent completion rate, 333 yards and four touchdowns. The Nighthawks lost 35-34 to Norco and there are no such thing as moral victories, but Murrieta Valley increased its rating among local media after the game. Rose is verbally committed to Utah and he will lead Murrieta Valley in a road game against a struggling San Clemente team.

[player_tooltip player_id="141934" first="Zachary" last="Siskowic"], Orange, 2022
Siskowic had a record-setting night for Orange in a 67-47 win over Capistrano Valley in a game I covered for the Orange County Register. The senior lefty threw for 467 yards and seven touchdowns against a solid South County team. He also rushed for a touchdown. Siskowic rose to prominence as a sophomore at Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks and a junior at Crespi. He throws a beautiful ball despite having a somewhat sidearm throwing motion and low release point. He got an offer from Portland State prior to the game on Friday.

Bryan Wilson, Ayala, 2024
Wilson had a breakout game against Tustin in another game I covered for the Orange County Register. The sophomore threw for a career-high 289 yards and had three touchdown passes in a rout of Tustin. He also ran for two touchdowns on quarterback sneaks. He plays on a great Ayala team with a fantastic offensive line and a good coaching staff. He has all the pieces to succeed and is taking advantage of it which is impressive for a sophomore. He has an offer from Florida State and is one of the best class of 2024 quarterbacks in Southern California in my opinion.
