Freshman Film Dive: Whose Rising the Ranks?

Dean is one of the top freshman passers across southern California and got plenty of varsity reps in his first season behind center. He is a big framed pocket passer that can move in the pocket and buy time with his legs while showing escapability and the tools to throw on the run from various arm angles. He processes quickly, gets the ball out and can throw his receivers open downfield and fit the ball into tight windows underneath. Dean will only continue to improve upon his mechanics and arm strength over the next three years and should be drawing college attention after his sophomore season next off-season and have a breakout year.     The Shafter product is one of the top playmakers in the valley and is coming off a stellar freshman season campaign in 2025. He is a shifty and explosive route runner that can create seperation downfield, has strong hands and tracking abilities at the point of attack and shows a quick release and get off to get off press coverage. After the catch he is a slippery player with the ball in his hands, has short area twitch and contact balance and also shows return abilities as well. Heading into the 2026 season he will be one of the top at his position regardless of class across the central valley and is a key name to note heading into the summer.     Suani is a exceptional athlete that plays on both sides of the ball and can run the rock and play on the defensive line. He is a twitchy and explosive player with violent hands, closing speed and has a rare combination of body control, size and speed heading into his second season at Amat. He lands on our Watch List rankings but is a very intriguing prospect that plays a variety of different roles at the prep level but should be a true interior defensive lineman as he grows and develops through high school and should be drawing college attention over the next couple of years.     Parkinson transferred over to Chaminade from Oak Christian after his freshman year and is one of the more active and athletic linebackers in the class across California. He shows he is a very high IQ player that is always running to the ball, tackles well in space and can play sideline to sideline and packs a punch at the point of attack. He can apply pressure with good timing up the middle or off the edge and has quick change of direction in the open field, cover abilities downfield and flashes he can shock and shed in the box and should find time at the varsity level as a sophomore in 2026.     Harts is the next up and coming breakout star for Pittsburg and should have a very strong second year for the Pirates in 2026. He is a very physical receiver that can block on the outside and looks for contact with the ball in his hands while showing deep speed over the top, strong hands in traffic and can get into defenders blind spots before breaking off his routes. As he continues on his prep career he should be drawing college attention here soon and is going to make a name for himself as a sophomore for one of the top programs in northern California and start seeing his stock rise.
