Both teams been having a great football season so far. They both have been plowing through the competition and getting better week by week. Before the game Fort Bend Clements was undefeated 4-0. However, Ridge Point decided to end Clements’ win streak with an overwhelming score of 56-20. The Ridge Point Panthers has an impressive lineup on both sides of the ball. I’ll be discussing The Ridge Point Panthers defensive standouts.
#42 Mason Hall OLB Sr 6’0 210 lbs
Mason Hall had a great game he was definitely the core of Ridge Points Panther’s defense. Mason was very active he broke apart Clement’s offense. Mason couldn’t be blocked or stopped he was able to pursue the ball efficiently almost every play. Mason was also good at blitzing getting into the backfield numerous of times and even got a sack.
#27 Taylor Davis CB, FS, SS Jr 6’0 180 lbs
Taylor Davis had a great night made a lot of highlights plays. Taylor is a cornerback and strong safety. Taylor focused on covering his zone and anyone that entered it definitely felt his pressure. Taylor was also good at reading Clements’ offense. Taylor caught three interceptions and one of them was a pick six that he took for 35-yard. Taylor Davis made his presence known and will surely get recognition from college and universities in the next two years.
#78 James Eaglin DT, NG Jr 6’5 290 lbs
James Eaglin is what I call a defensive tackle. James is a powerful tackle penetrating through the offensive line into the backfield. James was an overwhelming threat he contributed to Clements’ quarterback panicking into throwing three interceptions and taking sacks. James doesn’t have any official college or universities offers, but their are colleges and universities that have shown interest in James. UT Austin, Dartmouth College, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Lamar University, and Southern Methodist University. James will improve drastically in his junior and senior year and become a standout college prospect.
#56 Dylan Vaughn OLB Sr
Dylan Vaughn had a dominating game against The Clements Rangers. Dylan is an outside linebacker and he managed to stop a lot of Clement’s run plays. Whenever, Dylan blitzed he was quick off the ball and caught the running back as soon as he got the ball in his hands. With Dylan quickness and speed I’m sure he’ll stand out more in his senior year.
#37 Justin Brown OLB, SS, FS Jr 6’0 180 lbs
Justin Brown didn’t standout very much, but he made a couple plays that caught my interest. Justin is an aggressive outside linebacker when he made a tackle he made it count. The two tackles I saw him make were very impactful the sound it made echoed throughout the whole stadium. Justin a hard worker and with his fiery and passionate play style Justin Brown will continue to stand out in his junior and senior year.
