PrepRedzone Top Midwest Performers of the Week: 9/10/21

Hello, and hope you had a good weekend. I am happy to be back with our third edition of the new PrepRedzone weekly series focusing on some of the best individual high school football performances the Midwest had to offer from last Friday night, and once again we have doozies. Dakotas Carson Kirwan (Castlewood, SD) RB. 2023. In a 46-12 win over Deubrook the junior rushed 25 times for 258 yards and 1 TD. Braden Dierickx (West Central, SD) WR. 2022. Helped defeat a Milbank 33-32 and contributed 10 catches for 193 yards and 3 TDs. Tyus Williams (Kadoka, SD) RB/LB. 2023. In a 42-8 whoopin' of Jones County the junior recorded 10 carries for 109 yards and a TD, one catch for 37 yards and a TD, and 14 tackles and 2 sacks. Tash Lunday (Flandreau, SD) TE/DE. 2022. Totaled 4 catches for 27 yards and 2 TD, 9 tackles, 4 TFLs, and 3 sacks in a defeat of Baltic High School 29-8. Tucker Schneider (Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter, ND) ATH. 2022. Had a balanced stat line against Central McLean as he went 8-16 passing for 125 yards and 3 TDs, 5 rushes for 92 yards and a TD, 5 tackles, a sack, and an interception. Illinois Troyer Carlson (Kaneland) QB. 2024. Competing against Sycamore the sophomore went 25-34 for 342 yards, 3 passing TDs, and a rushing TD. In a win against Foreman the junior tallied 5 rushes for 207 yards and 2 TDs, a 32-yard punt return for a TD, threw an 80-yard TD, and posted 2 interceptions for 55 yards. Battling against St. Rita the junior went 20-27 passing for 305 yards and added 44 rushing yards as well. In a big win against Highland Park the 6'5, 200 lb. junior went 12-18 for 206 yards and 4 TDs in two and a half quarters of play. Playing against Centralia the senior threw for 209 yards and 1 passing TD, rushed for 68 yards and 4 TDs, and picked off a pass and it took back to the house for a TD. The 6'4, 180 lber. had a big Week 3 against Johnsburg as he went 24-34 for 343 yards and 5 TDs. Set two school records in a 56-41 win over Lafayette Jefferson as he posted 286 yards and 6 TDs. Playing against East Chicago Central the senior specialist went 6/6 on PATs and kicked a 35-yard FG. Against Martinsville the 6'2 athlete posted 16 carries for 220 yards and 2 TDs. Hudl: Bradley Vodraska (Fort Dodge) WR. 2022. Against Waterloo East the senior posted 9 catches for 122 yards and 3 TDs. The consistent top performer had another big week against Esterville Lincoln Central as he went 14-23 for 231 yards and 2 TDs through the air and added 26 rushes for 109 yards and 3 TDs on the ground. The speedster had a good game against Oskaloosa and despite the 24-19 loss he tallied 23 carries for 345 rushing yards and 3 TDs for a new school record. In his third game of the season the senior DB tallied 12.5 tackles, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions. Posted 7 receptions for 142 yards and 2 TDs and added 4 interceptions on defense. Against Charles City he put up 15 tackles, 4 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, an interception, and a fumble recovery. Put up a balanced stat line in a 35-14 win versus Hayden as he went 7-18 for 244 yards passing and 3 TDs through the air and added 14 rushes for 41 yards offensively. Against Hillsboro the sophomore gunslinger went 33-51 for 354 yards and a TD.
