North Jersey United Red and White Top Offensive Performers WK 1

Prep Redzone looks at some of the top offensive performers from Week 1 in the North Jersey United Red and United White conferences. <strong>Jaden Wimberly</strong>/St. Joseph Regional/2022 Wimberly caught four passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-6 win over Phillipsburg. <strong>Luke Henrich</strong>/QB/St. Joseph Regional/2023 Henrich completed 12-of-16 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-6 win over Phillipsburg. [player_tooltip player_id="28013" first="Myles" last="Thomason"]/RB/Seton Hall/2022 Thomason carried the football 14 times for 268 yards and three touchdowns in a 48-7 win over Union City. He scored on touchdown runs of 46, 72, and 5 yards. I got a chance to see what type of straight speed Thomason has on his longest touchdown run of 72 yards. He's more of a strider than quick-twitch guy and there was no one within 15 yards of him by the end of the run. Thomason is a downhill runner who is able to make quick cuts without breaking stride. <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/12721919/6134376d6890310988996a03">GAME HIGHLIGHTS</a> [player_tooltip player_id="146477" first="Robert" last="Long"]/QB/St. Peter’s Prep/2023 Long had another short night as he completed 8-of-11 passes for 163 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in a 49-8 win over West Orange. He is showing why Maryland decided to take him as a commit despite him not having much varsity film at the time. Long has great footwork and knows exactly when to step up in the pocket once he feels legit pressure. Despite being more than able to run the football, he continues to scan downfield to throw the football. <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/15065773/6133b30b9a9145092c48cca9">GAME HIGHLIGHTS</a> [player_tooltip player_id="27989" first="Ryan" last="Butler"]/RB/Bergen Catholic/2022 Butler had a great all-around game for Bergen Catholic in Week 1. He carried the football 15 times for 68 yards and one touchdown an caught three passes for 125 yards and one touchdown. [player_tooltip player_id="136731" first="Sam" last="Slade"]/RB/St. Peter’s Prep/2022 Slade carried the football six times for 106 yards and two touchdowns. He showed off his long speed during a 91-yard run for a touchdown where he ran through the hole in the middle of the defense. Slade outraced everyone to the end zone for the touchdown. <strong><a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/11807590/61352fe1e97a21061050656b">GAME HIGHLIGHTS</a></strong> <strong>Santino Correa</strong>/WR/Bergen Catholic/2022 Correa caught three passes for 120 yards and one touchdown in a 52-6 win over Bergen Catholic. [player_tooltip player_id="27966" first="Steven" last="Angeli"]/QB/Bergen Catholic/2022 Angeli completed 14-of-15 passes for 360 yards, and five touchdowns in a 52-6 win over Smyrna. He has been terrific in his two games having completed 28-of-31 passes for 555 yards and seven touchdowns. It's amazing how effortless Angeli made everything he did look against Smyrna. Angeli had a ton of time to throw thanks to his offensive line and was very efficient passing the football. His passes looked crisp and he showed his ability to throw passes on the move against Smyrna. &nbsp;
