There were several players on both teams that played very well in the game. Here are five of those players. With the victory, Kings remains undefeated at 4-0 and will play Walnut Hills next week. Anderson falls to 2-2 and will play Lebanon next week.
QB, Will Kocher, 6’1, 195, Kings
The Junior signal caller looked outstanding on Friday night as he passed for 434 yards and five touchdowns. At the snap, he quickly makes his reads scanning the entire field and is able to read the defense effectively as he finds the open man and delivers the deep ball with accuracy and touch while completing short and intermediate passes with very good spot on accuracy placing the ball where only the receiver can catch it. He displays excellent poise in the pocket as he is able to deliver an accurate ball with several defenders in his face. He is also very mobile as he is able to use his very good play speed and athletic ability to pick up significant yardage while also showing good play strength and physical toughness as he lowers his shoulder and runs over a DB picking up a first down in the process.
WR, Jake Cameron, 5’9, 170, Kings
The Junior WR played very well on Friday night. He had over 150 receiving yards and caught TD passes of 34 yards and 63 yards. He plays as a slot WR. He uses his very good football intelligence as he reads the coverage, his good quickness, hip fluidity and play speed to break off his stem at the top of his route and displays good hands as he is able to make the catch with his hands on passes that are thrown on target with ease. After the catch, he displays good play strength and contact balance to break tackles from DB and LB as he picks up significant yardage.
WR, Michael Mussari, Kings
The Junior WR had a great game on Friday night as he also had over 150 receiving yards and 2 TD. He plays as an outside WR. He is a very good deep threat as he uses his very good play speed and acceleration to get behind the CB on go routes. He also possesses very good hands as he shows the ability to make the catch on passes that are thrown over his shoulder. He shows great concentration as he is still able to make the catch with the CB draped over him with a hand in his face.
DB, Jack Ledford, Anderson
The 5’8 Senior DB had a 70 yard pick six that gave the Raptors a 14-0 lead in the 1st quarter. He plays as a CB. At the snap, he uses his very good football intelligence to quickly key and diagnose the play, his good play strength and hand use to easily shed the block from smaller WR, his very good closing speed to get to the ball and plays with very good leverage and play strength as he makes the tackle on larger WR easily on bubble screen plays. He displays very good ball skills as he tracks the ball in the air and shows good hands coming down with the interception. After the interception is made, he displays very good play speed as he eludes everyone on the offensive side of the ball for a long TD.
WR, Joey Faulkner, Anderson
The Senior WR was very reliable on Friday night as he caught 16 passes for 136 yards. He plays on the outside mainly as a Z WR. He takes long strides and eats up the cushion of the CB while manipulating his man with his hips before breaking off his stem on a corner route as he uses his good play speed to get behind his man. He displays very good hands as he shows the manual dexterity needed to make the catch on passes that are thrown both in and out of his strike zone.
