Dezmen Roebuck, ATH, Marana
Roebuck has been a two-way stud for Marana, hauling in 12 receptions for 166 yards and adding 20 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. He is the younger brother of former Marana standout Isaiah Roebuck. He possesses a very raw skillset and gifted ability as he is a very dynamic football player. Roebuck flashes loose hips with good twitch and COD which contributes to his fluid route running with the ability to haul in athletic grabs with body control, and solid instincts, burst, and closing speed as a DB. Highly impressive 2025 that could potentially see a division 1 offer relatively soon.
Jamar Malone, QB, Higley
Malone earned the QB1 role and although Higley has started 0-4, he made his first 3 starts against some top programs in the state (Williams Field, Queen Creek, Chaparral). He already sizes up with a college ready frame at 6’3″ 205lbs with the potential to grow. Dual-threat ability as he can pose as a big play threat when he takes off or sit back and deliver dimes. He had a nice throw last week against Boulder Creek on a fade where he utilized excellent touch, trajectory, and placement in between two defenders for six. He still has a lot to learn and much room to develop, but possesses a raw ability and a high ceiling, and projects to bloom into a big time gunslinger.
Sebastian Lopez, QB/DB, Bisbee
Lopez is an emerging threat in 2A ball. He hasn’t really shown his ability to sling it, as he has done his best work on the ground and the defensive side of the ball. Through 5 games, he’s rushed for 185 yards and 5 TD’s, and has racked up 21 tackles and 2 INT’s as a DB. Good nose for the endzone early in his career as he flashed solid vision as a ball carrier, and looks to be developing into a ball hawk as a DB. Not a ton of film to evaluate on him, but there’s been a buzz in 2A ball and he should continue to produce each week as he looks to mature quickly.
Thomas Doxtader, WR/DB, Lee Williams
Doxtader is blooming into a big time player for 4A Lee Williams, as he’s hauled in 9 receptions for 144 yards and 2 TD’s, while racking up 25 tackles and 1 INT on defense. Against North Canyon, he already showed a good understanding on how to sell and set up his routes, and dos a good job leaping up and high pointing the ball. He has flashed glimpses of flexibility and COD, and once he can get some more explosiveness out of his cuts, he’s going to be a dangerous young prospect in 4A ball.
Ayden Williams, RB, ALA-Ironwood
Williams has been a good role player throughout his freshman season thus far, rushing for 278 yards and 3 TD’s. He’s a fearless kid and despite his size (5’7″ 140lbs) he’s willing to take the ball up the gut or get vertical on outside zone runs and lower his shoulder. He’s been pretty effective in the screen game to chip defenders before release and pick up solid chunks of yards after the catch. Definitely a sneaky and scrappy upcoming player for ALA-Ironwood.
