Daniel Lymon – Bedford – 5’8″ 160 lbs
Lymon showed a great ability to create something out of nothing on Friday. He was continuously making defenders miss and finding open areas to run HEe was never brought down by the first defender and he looked great doing it. He was able to find the endzone early in the game and then he kept churning out big runs. He was picking up big chunks every time he touched the ball and finished with just under 150 rushing yards.
Darreon Fair – Cleveland Heights – QB – 5’9″ 170 lbs
Fair is a fantastic athlete and is explosive with the ball in his hands. On Friday, he made a run where I’m still not sure how he scored. He looked like he was bottled up but found a way through the hole and shot down the sideline and raced for the score. He doesn’t throw the prettiest ball, but it gets to where it needs to just about every time. He could clean up the mechanics quite a bit but he’s still only a Junior.
Anthony Gentile – Strongsville – RB – 5’9″ 200 lbs
Gentile is one of the biggest backs in the area and he can handle a massive workload and that’s what he did on Friday. Strongsville relied on him to get the running game going and to jump-start the offense any time it got flat. He was running through defenders just as much as he was making them miss. He’s able to square up and lower the shoulder pads naturally which gives him a huge advantage on those goal-line carries where he scored on Friday.
Jeremiah Dillard – Cleveland Heights – WR – 6’1″ 160 lbs
Anytime you have a quarterback put on a show like Fair did, someone is going to be on the receiving end of a few of those TDs. Dillard was fantastic on Friday and he was always getting open. He’s able to read zone vs man and know when to sit and when to keep going. Dillard was great on offense, but he changed the game on special teams. The defense just gave up a touchdown and Cleveland Heights was getting the ball back. Dillard decided to do it himself and take the ball all the way back for a 90-yard TD score and kill the momentum for Strongsville.
Nathanael Sulka – Chardon – ATH – 6’4″ 205 lbs
Sulka plays all over the field for Chardon including on offense, defense, and special teams. He made plays in all phases on Friday but he was dominant at WR. He’s much taller than most defenders so he’s able to go up and bring down just about any ball that is thrown his way. He was able to catch a ball on Friday that not many others would be able to make and then he raced it down the sideline for a score. HIs massive frame is a big advantage for Sulka and when he uses it the right way he’s a force on the field.
