Colin Pierce – Hudson – SB/FS – 5’10” 165 lbs
Pierce was able to be consistent for Hudson on Friday. He was continuously getting open and making important grabs. He showed great control of his body every time he went up for a ball. His most important grab came when he busted through the backend of the coverage and caught a touchdown pass to take the lead. Pierce helped Hudson fight for the win on Friday and that touchdown is what helped seal the deal.
Leroy Billips – RB – Euclid – 5’11” 200 lbs
Billips was up for the challenge on Friday to carry Euclid. He’s very well built and bounces back up after every run. Billips was able to rush for multiple big runs including a touchdown that kept the Panthers in the game. He has decent speed and can break away runs but he’s best at breaking tackles. He has a very strong upper body and that helps him succeed in the RedZone. Friday was no different and I don’t expect that to change anytime soon.
Perez Lemon Jr – WR – Euclid – 5’10” 165 lbs
Lemon looked fantastic on Friday. He looks even faster than expected. He’s got decent footwork and runs pretty sharp routes for only being in high school. He’s reliable and his hands are made of glue. Friday he was getting open everywhere and the ball just needed to be in his vicinity. He was able to come down with a pretty sick touchdown grab in the corner of the endzone where he got both feet in.
Reggie Byarse III – RB – Garfield Heights – 5’7″ 172 lbs
Byarse was pretty much unstoppable on Friday. He was a one-man wrecking crew and nobody could stop him. He’s so short and shifty that he can make just about anyone miss and has the ability to accelerate in a flash. If he gets into the open field no one is catching him and Cleveland Heights found that out on Friday. He’s shown no issue handling a full workload and with how well he played you can expect that workload to continue. He was in the endzone 3 times and could have had more if he wanted to it felt like.
Ryan Orosz – Stow-Munroe Falls – TE/RB/MLB — 6’1″ 215 lbs
Orosz was great on Friday and he did it on the ground and through the air. He was sealing the edge nicely when asked to block. His size was most felt in the receiving game as he wasn’t able to be slowed down. He had a few touchdowns on Friday and took one right up the seam for a score. He was also used in goal-line situations at tailback and he came through there as well. They needed him to bulldoze for a score and he did just that. Orosz put on a great show of size and strength Friday and there wasn’t much Barberton could do to slow him down.
