With several freshman stars making their presence felt, not just on the freshman or junior varsity teams, but at the varsity level, it is time to put the spotlight on these rising young stars. We will be spending the next few days critiquing some of the freshmen who have come bursting on to the scene. We start the series at the most important position: quarterback. It is not easy playing quarterback, but when you are new to the high school level, it is that much more difficult. Yet, these terrific prospects have flashed early in their high school careers and they have shown that they have a lot of potential.
Isaiah Rogers Isaiah Rogers 6'2" | 225 lbs | QB Ben Davis | 2025 State IN , 6’0, 195 pounds, Ben Davis
Isaiah Rogers Isaiah Rogers 6'2" | 225 lbs | QB Ben Davis | 2025 State IN has the potential to be the quarterback of the future for the Ben Davis Giants. Rogers is a prospect who does very well getting the ball out quickly. He does well making throws in rhythm and keeping the offense moving. Even when Rogers has to hold on to the ball, he is very good at going through his progressions and finding the open receiver. On the Giants’ freshman team, Rogers is 17/26 on the year. He has 168 passing yards to go along with three touchdowns and no interceptions. Rogers has seen somewhat limited action, but he has been impressive in that time. Against Avon, Rogers had a quarterback rating of 165.2.

Wyatt Mullin Wyatt Mullin 5'11" | 180 lbs | QB South Putnam | 2025 State IN has given South Putnam fans plenty of excitement as he more than held his own on the varsity squad. Mullin has a quick release that can greatly hamper the opposing pass rush. He is very accurate and knows how to hit his spots. Mullin also demonstrates the toughness needed to play quarterback at this level. He is not afraid to take a hit and still make the throw. In spite of being in the varsity spotlight, Mullin does not panic. He makes good decisions and keeps the offense in good situations.
Carsen Melvin Carsen Melvin 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Westfield | 2025 State IN , 6’3, 185 pounds, Plainfield
Carsen Melvin Carsen Melvin 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Westfield | 2025 State IN is off to an outstanding to start to his high school career. On Plainfield’s varsity team, Melvin has thrown for 56/82 with 895 passing yards. Melvin has eight touchdowns and four interceptions to go along with a 116.7 quarterback rating. Melvin is amongst the state leaders in passing yards. He is a playmaker that shows tremendous upside for Plainfield. Carsen Melvin Carsen Melvin 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Westfield | 2025 State IN is going to be name that fans in Indiana will be hearing for years to come.

Nevan Tutterow Nevan Tutterow 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Franklin Central | 2025 State IN appears to be is great quarterback prospect to watch out for at Franklin Central. Tutterow is very mobile. He navigates the pocket well while keeping his eyes down field. Even while on the move, Tutterow makes good reads and he delivers accurate, on-time throws. He has the ability to pick up yardage with his legs. Nevan Tutterow Nevan Tutterow 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Franklin Central | 2025 State IN shows a ton of potential. And with a solid team around him, he has a chance to have a great career.
