The NC High School football season is off to great start with players putting up impressive performances across the state. The players listed are leading the Class of 2022 after Week 3:
<strong>Gavin Gosnell, QB, 6’2" 205, Hendersonville HS</strong>. Gavin displays a strong arm on the medium and long ball passes. He remains calm in the pocket under pressure to deliver accurate passes in traffic. Gavin will tuck the ball and run when needed, scoring often. Gavin Gosnell leads the class with 979 passing yards.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="141262" first="Jaydon" last="Brooks"], RB, 6’0" 210, Princeton HS</strong>. Jaydon is a strong straight-line runner who follows blockers then accelerates past defenders in the open field to gain big yardage, scoring consistently. He displays the ability to run inside and is tough to bring down after initial contact. [player_tooltip player_id="141262" first="Jaydon" last="Brooks"] leads the class with 746 rushing yards.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="109146" first="Wesley" last="Grimes"], WR, 6’3" 180, Millbrook HS</strong>. Wesley runs precision pass routes and separates from the defender quickly to make the catch. He displays the ability to elude the initial defender and accelerate past defenders in the open field, scoring often. [player_tooltip player_id="109146" first="Wesley" last="Grimes"] leads the class with 328 receiving yards.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="141361" first="Levi" last="Andrews"], DL, 6’4" 250, Avery County HS</strong>. Levi displays good technique and uses his hands well to control the blocker to stop the play. He displays good upper body strength and quickness to move past blockers to make tackles for losses. [player_tooltip player_id="141361" first="Levi" last="Andrews"] leads the class with 67 solo tackles.
<strong>Jhyheem Pittman, DL, 6’3" 295, Dudley HS</strong>. Jhyheem displays good footwork and lateral movement while controlling the blocker to stop the play. He uses his size and strength to move past the blocker to make tackles for losses. Jhyheem Pittman leads the class with 4 sacks.
<strong>Ryan Spruill, DB, 5’10" 160, Washington HS</strong>. Ryan reads the play and displays good lateral movement while closing on the wide receiver to disrupt the pass, intercepting often. He displays good technique while making open field tackles. Ryan Spruill leads the class with 3 interceptions.
