Last fall, the Cathedral Fighting Irish ascended to the top of Class 5A with a state championship victory. With many stars from a season ago returning, the expectation will be that Cathedral will make a return trip to Lucas Oil Stadium this time around. The Fighting Irish figure to be a physically-dominant team, with an offensive line that could be amongst the best in Indiana. Over the next two days, we will preview Cathedral’s 2021 squad, as the season kickoff beckons. The Fighting Irish will certainly have a target on their back this season, but with the loaded roster that they possess, it will take something special to knock them off their perch.

[player_tooltip player_id="123671" first="Chris" last="Farah"] is a mauler at right guard, who is a critical component of Cathedral’s dominant offensive line. Farah is very physical. Frequently, he manages to overpower his opponent, and drive them off the ball. Farah finishes all of his blocks with authority. Farah is tremendous in pass protection. He moves his feet very well. Farah is mobile, and he can handle any blocking assignment that is thrown his way.

[player_tooltip player_id="97820" first="Cooper" last="Koers"] enters the 2021 season as the number 12 offensive lineman, and the 49th-rated prospect overall, in the senior class. Koers is a premiere lead blocker that a team could build their running game around. Koers has great mobility. At tackle, it is critical for him to be able to move his feet well. He is outstanding at keeping himself between a speedy edge rusher and his quarterback. Koers has incredible power and strength. His film is replete of plays where he pancakes the opposing defender. On run plays, Koers does a great job of getting up to the second level and blocking a linebacker.

[player_tooltip player_id="98023" first="Bryce" last="Llewellyn"] is the third-ranked senior defensive back, and the number 40 prospect overall in the Class of 2022. Llewellyn is a very smart player, who reads the game well. He can read the eyes of the quarterback, and drive on the football. Llewellyn is a relentless player, ready to give maximum effort until the whistle, on every play. He has great closing speed, and he fights until the conclusion of the play. Llewellyn does well with the physical side of the game. He can jam receivers at the line-of-scrimmage, tackle in space and he is an effective run defender. Llewellyn is a terrific special teams contributor, making an impact on the punt return unit.
