Our preseason preview of this upcoming Fall season continues with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Preseason All-State Teams! These lists are always tough, especially with such a large pool of talent from all around Pennsylvania. Many of these players play both ways, so deciding a position is difficult. As a collective amongst PA scouts, here is the 2021 All-Pennsylvania Preseason 1st Team offense!

Quarterbacks

[player_tooltip player_id="27576" first="Beau" last="Pribula"] | 6’2, 210 | QB | Central York | 2022
[player_tooltip player_id="141220" first="Jack" last="Capaldi"] | 6’2, 205 | QB | Malvern Prep | 2022
Pribula is the premier prize Pennsylvania has to offer at the quarterback position. The Nittany Lion commit will look to continue his stellar football career and lead Central York to what they hope will be a state title. The second-place spot behind Pribula was a tough choice. We unanimously decided Capaldi be placed on the 1st-Team due to how highly we all project him to elevate this coming Fall.

Runningbacks

[player_tooltip player_id="27558" first="Nicholas" last="Singleton"] | 6’0, 218 | RB/ATH | Governor Mifflin | 2022
[player_tooltip player_id="27732" first="Marquese" last="Williams"] | 5’10, 180 | RB | Bishop McDevitt | 2023
Another soon-to-be Nittany Lion was an absolute no-brainer to lead the running back group in PA. We believe Singleton to be one of the best backs in the country, period, if not the. The second pick behind Singleton was unanimous as well. We still await a decision as to where Williams will play his college ball, he’s the first junior on this list.

Wide Receivers

[player_tooltip player_id="27566" first="Anthony" last="Ivey"] | 6’1, 180 | WR/DB | Manheim Township | 2022
[player_tooltip player_id="27557" first="Mehki" last="Flowers"] | 6’1, 190 | WR/ATH | Central Dauphin East | 2022
[player_tooltip player_id="27735" first="Rodney" last="Gallagher"] | 6’0, 160 | WR/ATH | Laurel Highlands | 2023
There was no position more difficult to discuss and select than the wide receiver group, large in part because of how many athletes are capable, even ones who primarily play defensive back. More Penn State commits in Ivey and Flowers are selected unanimously and are both deserving of the number one spot. The third spot was tough. We decided on another stellar junior who ranks as our 4th best junior in all of PA. Gallagher can do so much on and off the field, we expect a huge Fall out of him.

Tight Ends

[player_tooltip player_id="97607" first="Joey" last="Schlaffer"] | 6’6, 210 | TE/ATH | Exeter Township | 2023
[player_tooltip player_id="27592" first="Marquell" last="Darnell"] | 6’7, 210 | TE/ATH | Erie | 2022
Two absolute behemoth tight ends who were both unanimous selections. The tight end pool isn’t extensive in Pennsylvania, as many great tight ends project well at wideout or defensive end on our rankings. We expect Schlaffer and Darnell to dominate competition this Fall.

Offensive Linemen

Drew Shelton | 6’5, 280 | OT | Downingtown West | 2022
[player_tooltip player_id="87835" first="Ryan" last="Brubaker"] | 6’6, 280 | OT | Cocalico | 2022
Brad Harris Jr. | 6’4, 280 | OL | St. Joseph’s Prep | 2022
[player_tooltip player_id="27669" first="Braelin" last="Moore"] | 6’3, 295 | OG | Freedom | 2022
[player_tooltip player_id="92420" first="Nick" last="Del Grande"] | 6’4, 265 | OT | Lampeter-Strasburg | 2022
No three offensive linemen in Pennsylvania better represent the position than the trio of Drew Shelton, [player_tooltip player_id="87835" first="Ryan" last="Brubaker"], and Brad Harris. Respectively, Penn State again dominates this list and has secured Drew Shelton. Brubaker is heading South to become a Gamecock. As for Harris, we still await his decision and will keep a watchful eye. The offensive line group consists entirely of seniors, as we round out the rest of the group with Freedom’s [player_tooltip player_id="27669" first="Braelin" last="Moore"] and Lamp-Stras’ [player_tooltip player_id="92420" first="Nick" last="Del Grande"]. The entire group selection was unanimous.
