Jeffrey Mold Jeffrey Mold 6'0" | 155 lbs | DB Anthony Wayne | 2022 OH – Anthony Wayne – WR/CB – 6’1″ 165 lbs
Mold was all over the field Friday using his speed. He was making important catches to move the chains on offense and then rotating in on defense. Mold was even able to return a punt all the way for a touchdown. He showed great speed in the return with an ability to accelerate in a flash. He was able to weave through traffic and make a few guys miss before returning it to the house. Mold is a decent athlete and it was on display Friday.
Blake Lichtenberg Blake Lichtenberg 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Toledo St. John's | 2023 State OH – St. Johns – QB – 6’1″ 185 lbs
Lichtenberg looked fantastic last week. Throughout the game, he was able to stay calm and collected while moving St. Johns up and down the field. He showed great ability to read the field and make every throw. He came through in crunch time as he led them to a game-winning drive. Lichtenberg, on the final play of the game, rolled out to his left and delivered a strike for a TD and a win. The junior quarterback already has offers from Toledo and Youngstown State. With performances like that, the offers are going to keep rolling in.
Connor Walendzak Connor Walendzak 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Perrysburg | 2023 OH – Perrysburg – RB/SS – 5’11″ 195 lbs
Walendzak was key for Perrysburg on Friday. Every time they called his number he came through and delivered. He showed great bursts and physicality while making his runs and blocks. His biggest play of the day was a touchdown where he took the edge, hurdled a man falling down, cut inside, and scored. The place went absolutely wild. It wasn’t the biggest play, but his most important play was his final where he rushed in for a 15-yard touchdown to ice the game. He burst through the hole, broke a tackle, and scored. Walendzak put on a show Friday and I hope to see more performances from him in the coming weeks.
Ben Ireland Ben Ireland 5'11" | 175 lbs | WR Findlay | 2022 OH – Findlay – WR/CB – 6’0″ 175 lbs
Ireland made most defenders look silly on Friday. He has elite speed and can get full speed in a flash. They like to use him all over the field and manufacture him touches. If you get the ball in his hands in space he’s a threat to break one and take it to the house. Ireland did just that on Friday. He took a punt-return back to the house. But, it wasn’t just the return it was his speed, like aforementioned. He sprinted down the sideline so fast that everyone else looked to be in slow motion. He ran right past players who were already running full speed in the same direction. The punt return was huge because it silenced the crown briefly and gave Findlay some breathing room.
Logan Thor Logan Thor 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB Sylvania Northview | 2022 OH – Northview – QB – 6’1″ 175 lbs
Thor lived up to his last name on Friday. He was dropping dimes throughout the entire game and hitting his receivers in stride. He was moving drives with his legs when needed and extending plays when nobody was open. Thor’s best play was when he was flushed out of the pocket, rushed around, and took off. He weaved through the entire defense while racing for a 50-yard touchdown. Thor looked great on Friday and while they didn’t win, he’s developing, and as a quarterback, that’s exactly what you want. Thor could receive a ton of offers if he continues to perform as he did on Friday.
