Ja’Cory Brown – 2022 DT – Rowlett, TX (Rowlett) – 6’2″/290:
Talk about big time potential, Ja’Cory Brown more than fits that description with the tools he brings at the DT position. Has a thick build already with long arms that you see him use often on film. He is impressively quick and explosive off the ball at his size and does a nice job timing the snap. This allows him to get into OL in a hurry but then he shows knockback power in his hands handling OL with ease. Stack and shed is easy for him but love the athleticism he shows after shedding to run down ball carriers rather in the backfield or down the line. With the power he brings, you see him repeatedly reset the LOS in the run game but even more impressive is seeing how light on his feet and flexible he is to bend it back around blockers to the QB on one play. A guy his size showing the feet and change of direction he has is fun to watch. Speaking to a Coach on the Rowlett staff, he let me know Brown played TE up until last year so his JR clips you see below are actually his 1st year playing the position. Actually said he is the ‘Heartbeat of the team’. Brown finished his 1st season at DT with 10 TFL and 8 Sacks in 6 games. His scrimmage clips from this year show he could have an even better year as you see him flashing really impressive lateral quickness and fluidity on one play. He will need to work on not popping straight up off the snap but with his lack of experience at the position it’s understandable. He currently holds a couple D2 and NAIA offers but fully expect FBS offers to come as the season gets going.
Malachi Williams – 2022 DT – Terrell, TX (Terrell) – 6’2″/285:
Williams really carries his weight well on his frame as you don’t see really any bad weight on him at all. Even though he is 6’2″ you see the length he has on his arms and short area quickness he brings right off the bat making an impressive tackle on a RB in space. Like the edge and physicality he plays with at the point of attack driving OG into the backfield. At times you see him fire off the ball with good pad level but needs to be more consistent here. Do like how you see him repeatedly shoot those hands to create extension. Has powerful hands. Shows good eye discipline as you see him track the ball while engaged/disengaging from blocks. Just a stalemate especially against the run game. At times you see him show he can contort his body to get skinny while working up field. Williams is a solid DT prospect who is yet to receive an offer from any level at this time but don’t expect it to stay that way as I see FCS written all over him in my opinion.

Trevion Mitchell Trevion Mitchell 6'5" | 275 lbs | DL West Mesquite | 2022 State TX – 2022 DT/DE – Mesquite, TX (West Mesquite) – 6’5″/293:
Mitchell brings a massive and long frame at 6’5″ and 293-pounds with a thick looking lower half but still has room to develop his upper body even more. His sheer size, length and strength alone make him a nightmare for HS OL to deal with especially off the edge. But he’s not just a physical specimen as he flashes some flexibility and closing speed off the edge with the ability to stick his foot in the ground and change direction with no waisted movement. He plays all over the defensive line for West Mesquite rather at the 1-tech, 3-tech or even out as what looks like a 7-tech as well. Has really impressive speed at his size when you get to see him open it up and like the motor he plays with. He’s raw at this point with his best football definitely ahead of him as he continues to develop technique wise. See him as a 4i or 5i at the next level in a 3-4 alignment as the traits he brings fits that scheme extremely well. He also played OT for his squad last year and tells me he will do the same this year. Like Brown, Mitchell also holds D2 offers but got to think FBS offers will come at some point especially at the group of 5 and possibly even Power 5 level.
