Centennial of Corona defensive back [player_tooltip player_id="141869" first="Eric" last="Butler"] Jr. verbally committed to Nevada on July 1.
Butler transferred to Centennial last offseason from Roosevelt and emerged as a high-ranked prospect after performing well in the Winner Circle Athletics club league prior to the spring season.
He had a pair of receiving touchdowns for the Huskies but will be a corner at the college level. Butler is the second player from California in Nevada’s 2022 class, joining [player_tooltip player_id="143117" first="Cameron" last="Sampson"] from Capital Christian (Sacramento).

He is a big receiver at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds with strong hands and makes plays after the catch. He has impressed scouts at camps with his athletic potential, having an impressive 40-yard dash time and broad jump.
Merriweather can play defensive back too but I like him better as a receiver. He has 1,000 yard potential this fall.

Colony (Ontario) receiver [player_tooltip player_id="25337" first="Antoine" last="Jones"] committed to Arizona on July 5.
Jones was previously committed to UCLA, but opened back up his recruiting on June 14. Multiple recruiting experts predicted he would commit to Arizona earlier this month.
He is 6-foot-5 and some scouts think he could develop into a tight end. He creates good separation and wins a lot of jump balls with his size and strong hands.
Jones impressed scouts at The Opening passing tournament that ran alongside the Elite 11 finals in Mira Costa.

Georgia, Michigan and Yale all offered the under the radar class of 2023 prospect. He got his first offer from Florida State last week.
He is 6-foot-3, 250 pounds and has a lot of strength for an end of his size. He defends the run well and is a solid edge rusher. He could potentially be an interior defensive lineman depending on the scheme and how much size he puts on.
