Ohio is well-known for its football recruits. The SE part of Ohio has some ballers who aren’t committed yet and we are looking at some of those players.
[player_tooltip player_id="129170" first="Ashton" last="Duncan"] - Ironton - DL - 6’3" 242 lbs
Duncan is a fun DL. He could play LB if they wanted him to. He’s fluid and very smooth. He’s been well-coached throughout his career. He plays very sound and fundamentally driven football. He’ll be a good player at the next level. He’s listed as a 3-star recruit and has offers from Miami, Coastal Carolina, and Ball State.
[player_tooltip player_id="34408" first="Will" last="Futhey"] - Waverly - WR - 6’5" 200 lbs
Futhey is a fun WR that QBs love. Throw the ball up to him and he will make something happen almost every time. He has a great vertical leap and it goes well with his size. He’s listed as a 3-star recruit and currently has offers from Akron, Eastern Michigan, and New Mexico.
Thomas Richardson - Gilmour Academy - QB - 6’3" 207 lbs
Richardson is a dual-threat QB with great speed. He’s a great athlete that alone should have D1 offers. What he can do with the ball in his hand is just a bonus. He doesn’t have a great arm and could really use a summer of mechanics. He’s listed as a 2-star recruit and his only offer is from D3 Capital. He’s likely looking for a bigger offer and with a huge year this year, he could get one.
[player_tooltip player_id="34423" first="Hunter" last="Hopperton"] - Streetsboro - TE - 6’3" 243 lbs
Hopperton is more of a massive FB/TE breed. He’s got great blocking mechanics and could lineup behind QB at moments. He’s nimble for his size and understands how to use his body to get the most advantage possible. He’s a 2-star recruit and has offers from Lafayette, Air Force, Army, and Austin Peay. He’s a raw prospect who needs a lot of coaching up. I’d expect a Redshirt and then we will see what happens after that first year.
[player_tooltip player_id="129171" first="John" last="Jackson"] - Barberton - DL - 6’3" 260 lbs
Jackson is the most obvious plug-and-play player on the list. He could use a summer of weights but he’s strong enough right now to fight in the collegiate trenches. He gives it his all on every down and has a nonstop motor. He’s listed with 3 stars and has offers from Ball State, Bowling Green, Kent State, Liberty, and Youngstown State. Where he goes is still wide out in the open. I wouldn’t expect a decision until National Signing Day with Jackson.
