SW Ohio Hidden Gems: 2022

The Dayton/Cincinnati area is stacked with tons of top recruits. This is pushing down some other guys with star potential. We are looking at them and what to expect this fall. Nick Moore - IOL - Northwest - 6’4" 270 lbs Moore is built like an NFL guard. He has great size and arms that seem like they stretch and grow. He’s extremely athletic for his size. On top of that, he’s a standout in the classroom. He’s got offers from Army, Navy, and Marshall. If he lands in the right program he could be a future draft pick. [player_tooltip player_id="34464" first="Paul" last="Haywood"] - IOL - LaSalle - 6’4" 315 lbs Haywood is every QB’s best friend. He’s got a gritty personality that translates onto the football field. He’s mean and lean. He’s well-built and even more agile. He’s very raw in the technique department but that can obviously be cleaned up with some coaching. He’s got offers from Akron and Dartmouth and is listed as a 3-star recruit. [player_tooltip player_id="106898" first="Grant" last="Lyons"] - St. Xavier - LB - 6’3" 230 lbs Lyons flies all over the field and makes plays everywhere. He is the defensive field general and everyone knows it. He’s a hometown kid who wants to stay home. He’s listed as a 2-star recruit but has big potential. He’s verbally committed to Miami of Ohio but other schools like Air Force, Ball State, and Toldeo have recently come knocking. It’ll be interesting this fall when more schools show up if he sticks with the hometown commitment. Christian Kirenga - Archbishop Alter - CB - 6’1" 180 lbs Kirenga is a true outside corner. He does a great job in man coverage and opening his hips in bail techniques. He’s not a great tackler but doesn’t miss them either. He’s long and well-built. He has great speed and could be a kick returner in the future. He’s listed as a 2-star recruit and is currently being pushed very aggressively by Illinois State. [player_tooltip player_id="91557" first="Drew" last="Ramsey"] - Elder - ATH - 6’1" 200 lbs Ramsey is listed as an ATH but plays WR primarily. That is also probably where he will be recruited to play. He doesn’t have great speed or size but he does have the potential to be a really good slot WR. He isn’t afraid of playing in the middle of the field and getting hit. He’s listed as a 3-star recruit and currently has offers from Miami and Toledo.
