These players are coming off good Sophomore and Freshman campaigns and are set to break out during the Fall 2021 season and will be joined by other top players across the region by the end of next season.
Jake Greule, Folsom HS
Greule is poised to have a breakout season this Fall at the Varsity level for the Bulldogs. A dominant force and true technician on both sides of the ball, he has a terrific frame and length with the ability to pack on more weight as he progresses through high school and college. He can play multiple positions inside and out due to being able to move well and block in space, and climb to the second level and pull. He plays with a strong initial punch and good toughness/physicality through out his blocks and finishes blocks well. Also showing heavy hands in pass pro and moves well laterally while keeping defenders square to his chest. As he goes through his Junior season, he should start to see his recruiting stock rise and draw college interest.
Austin Mack Austin Mack 6'5" | 200 lbs | QB Folsom | 2024 CA , Folsom HS
Only a Freshman, Mack already has a college level frame and will continue to add to it through out his high school career. Very mobile in the pocket with the ability to step up and and keep his eyes downfield, the ball jumps out of his hand and he shows he can throw on a rope into tight windows from 25+ yards out both in the pocket and while on the run. Very accurate with his deep ball, he throws with nice touch and velocity to throw his receivers open and does a good job at moving defenders with his eyes. Possessing an extremely talented arm, overall athletic ability and an ideal frame, Mack should start collecting FBS offers in the coming months leading through his Sophomore campaign and should be one of the most productive quarterbacks in the state by the time it’s all said and done.
RJ Whitten RJ Whitten 6'0" | 185 lbs | DB Folsom | 2024 State CA , Folsom HS
Whitten is a young and very talented playmaker with the ball in his hands and will soon be one of the top receivers in the Sacramento area. Able to play both in the slot or the outside, he is a precise route runner that is smart against zone coverage and does a good job at attacking the ball in the air and can make tough catches in traffic. He has a strong build and runs strong with the ball in his hands while able to run through arm tackles and gain yards after the catch.
Ty Kubicek, Capital Christian HS
Kubicek moved to inside linebacker for his second season coming from his edge position as a Freshman. He is a downhill physical thumper that applies pressure with good timing and a nice pop upon contact. A very strong tackler in the box, he has nice closing short area speed and and is a versatile defender that can play ILB or DE.
Demetrius Brown Jr., Folsom HS
Brown is a big and physical receiver with a strong build. Only a rising Junior, he tracks the ball well from multiple different angles and can make adjustments while it is in the air. He also shows a nice initial burst and has good speed with the ability to run past defenders playing off-man and understands whereto settle and find the right pockets. Another top 2023 player in Folsom’s loaded program within the 2023 and 2024 class, he will be another of the top wideouts in the Sacramento area for the next two years.
