Although one of these guys holds a D1 offer, he continues to show big time potential and should be more heavily recruited. The other of which comes from the ’24 class at a 3A program, and looks much more advanced than any other athlete at his position in his class. Take a look at the twitter spotlights of the week:
Defensive Spotlight
Tavian Dennis Tavian Dennis 5'11" | 185 lbs | ATH Desert Vista | 2022 State AZ , ATH, 5’11″ 190lbs, Desert Vista ’22

Dennis didn’t get much of a season due to COIVID at Cesar Chavez, so he recently transferred to Desert Vista where he projects to make a huge impact on both sides of the ball. He plays SS on defense and shows tremendous athleticism all around. He displays solid instincts and reaction with a good track toward the ball carrier. He closes well as a tackler and finishes opponents with a good striking ability. He shows a good understanding of zone responsibilities, and is athletic enough to man up on the slot and does a great job tracking the hips of receivers. He identifies routes and concepts well and does a good job anticipating the throw, and shows a nice break on the ball. He has solid ball skills all around and is a fly-around guy with a high motor with massive potential. Dennis possesses solid range and speed and is a true FBS level prospect. He picked up his first offer from San Diego State, and should see more of a spark soon. He holds a 3.8 GPA and will be a fun player to watch during his senior campaign.
After an amazing conversation with @CoachSumlerSDSU I am blessed to say that I have received my first scholarship offer from San Diego State University!! #GoAztecs @AztecFB @AztecRecruits @Coach_Wiz3 @thunderfbfamily @BrandonHuffman @adamgorney pic.twitter.com/8WSANUt8Bj

Offensive Spotlight
Brandon Phelps Brandon Phelps 6'3" | 195 lbs | WR American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North | 2024 State AZ , WR, 6’3″ 190lbs, ALA-Gilbert North ’24

Phelps is a big time freshman with big time potential, and possibly the best ’24 WR in the state. He sizes up with an excellent frame and length and is still growing into it. He is developing into your prototypical X or Z, and was awarded “3A Freshman Of The Year”. He’s fairly new to football in general, but has that raw talent at a young age. He is a solid intermediate and deep route runner, and was extremely effective on double moves as he sets them up nicely. He shows a good stick at the top of routes to generate separation as well. He can improve hip flexibility and twitch which well help him get out of his breaks on shallower routes a bit better, but I expect that to come soon. Phelps has a large catch radius and has shown the ability to win contested catches. He started to find the soft spot well in coverage and does a good job getting upfield after the catch, showing solid physicality. He has solid speed as a ’24 kid as well. If he continues on the same trajectory, he looks to be developing into a potential division 1 prospect.
