Gavin Broscious Gavin Broscious 6'5" | 300 lbs | OL Desert Edge | 2022 State AZ is a 6-5, 305-pound guard and tackle for Desert Edge High School in Goodyear. He was named last December to Arizona’s First-Team All-State as a junior. Gavin recently committed to Michigan State but also had offers from Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, California. Nevada, UNLV, Minnesota, Nebraska, Vanderbilt, Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico. He chose Michigan State based on his relationship with the Spartans’ Offensive Line Coach, Chris Kapilovic. The two have known each other since Gavin was in eighth grade and attending ASU summer camps.
Gavin was one of three o-linemen named MVP at the recent Under Armour All-American Camp in Phoenix. One scout referred to him as “the most physical lineman at the camp, showing his strength by winning endless battles in the trenches. He also moved pretty easily in position drills. I like his positional versatility and he is athletic enough to play guard or tackle at the next level.”
Another scout had this to say about Gavin. “He keeps his pad level even, uses violent hands, along with quick feet. He stays square with the opposition while blocking to open up running lanes for his backs. He worked on the off-season on getting a quicker first step off the snap and made tremendous progress. He’s also improved in his ability to stay low after the snap and keep an athletic base throughout the play. Gavin rarely lunges and misses a defensive lineman in pass protection and consistently gets inside the defender’s chest plate on running plays.”
Parker Railsford is a 6-3, 265-pound offensive guard at Saguaro High School in Scottsdale. He also competes on the Sabercats track and field team in the shot-put and discus. Parker was selected to the second team All-State offense and was All ArizonaVarsitry Region 5A first team. Saguaro was 5-2 last fall. Parker has a 3.4 GPA.
As a guard, Parker has a motor that won’t stop until the whistle blows. He possesses good fundamentals and excellent footwork, especially at the point of attack. He is also explosive getting off the ball and he is easily effective as a pulling guard on inside runs or as a lead blocker on the perimeter. Parker uses his strength and physicality to get a solid push off the line of scrimmage. He can play any position on the offensive line.
He can squat 555 pounds, bench press 325, and clear 315. At present, Parker has a number of offers from various colleges around the country: Arizona, Boise State, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Washington State, USC, and San Diego State. He is definitely headed to a Power Five college.
Micah Lutu Micah Lutu 6'2" | 295 lbs | OL Saguaro | 2022 State AZ is a 6-2, 295-pound tackle and defensive end for Saguaro High School in Scottsdale. The three-star athlete is also an outstanding track and field athlete competing in both the discus and shot-put. As a freshman at Chandler High School, Micah was offered a scholarship by Arizona State. Now at Saguaro, he had a recent additional offer from New Mexico.
Micah is an athletic big man with power. He could probably play on the offensive or defensive line at the next level. As a member of the Sabercats defensive line, he is a powerful pass rusher up the middle of the line with good hands and excellent footwork. Micah will also shed blocks to find the running back with the ball. He also has an incredible work ethic.
Trevor Swan Trevor Swan 6'5" | 295 lbs | OL Perry | 2022 State AZ is a 6-4, 290-pound offensive lineman from Perry High School in Gilbert. When he played junior football with the Arizona Youth Football Phoenix All-Stars and the Gilbert Rancheros, he was listed at 6-1, 210 pounds. As a freshman, he was offered a full scholarship to Arizona State. He has since committed to Jamestown University in North Dakota. He recently played at the Under Armour All-American Camp in Phoenix.
Trevor plays for Head Coach Preston Jones. “He’s a hard-working kid with a great attitude,” said Coach Jones.” He has good leadership skills just by his actions. He plays center and snaps well. I think he can also play guard and/or tackle. That’s impressive for a lineman to play all those positions.” Trevor possesses great size and strength. His lower body creates leverage to open up holes in the running game. He is also a strong pass protector. By the way, he also has a 3.8 GPA.
Jai Rodriguez is a 6-6, 275-pound offensive tackle for Desert Vista High School. The three-star lineman plays for Head Coach Dan Hinds and also plays defensive tackle. He has a reputation for having a great work ethic and is considered very coachable. He recently competed in a number of camps and combines: the Under Armour Camp, the National Preps Collegiate Showcase, and the USA National Team combine.
Before the start of his junior year, Jai got a scholarship offer from Arizona State. Attending the ASU camp, the Sun Devil coaches were impressed with his leadership, his performance in agility drills, and his overall footwork. He has additional offers from Northern Arizona University and Idaho and has had ongoing conversations with coaches at Washington, Ohio State, Michigan, and Colorado. To date, he has not committed to a specific college.
