Nathan Acevedo, Grossmont, 2022
Usually when you hear that a receiver had over half of the team’s total receiving yards, it’s when a guy had 100 yards and the team had 200 total. Acevedo had 250 yards on eight catches with three touchdowns in Grossmont’s competitive loss against Helix. He is very athletic and can make big plays after the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id="25360" first="Tiger" last="Bachmeier"], Murrieta Valley, 2023
Bachmeier transferred to Murrieta Valley this offseason from Orange Lutheran and the move made sense. His older brother Hank is the quarterback at Boise State and played at Murrieta Valley. Bachmeier had 136 yards receiving and a pair of touchdowns in a win against Murrieta Mesa. He is an outstanding route runner and has the strength to take big hits. Bachmeier has offers from Arizona State and Pittsburgh.

Jack Fairchild, Crean Lutheran, 2022
Crean Lutheran is a program that is in over its head in the Empire League, but there are some talented players on the Saints roster. One is receiver Jack Fairchild, who set multiple school records in the team’s close loss to Kennedy. He caught 12 passes for 173 yards and four touchdowns. He also had 278 all-purpose yards which is a school record. Fairchild is a three-sport athlete at Crean with elite speed who is an interesting prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="25227" first="Tetairoa" last="McMillan"], Servite, 2022
When you see McMillan’s stat line against Mater Dei, you wouldn’t think he would be high up on this list. He had just over 100 yards with a handful of catches in a close loss to one of the top teams in the nation. The reason TMac is on this list is because he drew six pass interference penalties against the elite Mater Dei defense. He has 23 offers including all the major schools like LSU, Notre Dame and USC.

Marcos Powe, La Salle, 2021
In the top passing performers story, I highlighted [player_tooltip player_id="25416" first="Richie" last="Munoz"] and his six touchdown passes for La Salle. He threw four of those to Powe. Powe is 6-foot-2 but wins a lot of jump balls like someone who is three inches taller. He had 156 yards on seven catches last week and is a great athlete. He has an offer from San Diego.

Xavier Van, Helix, 2022
Van is a big play artist for Helix. He only had three catches in a win against Grossmont but had 160 yards and scored touchdowns on all three of those receptions. He had a 77-yard touchdown catch. According to MaxPreps, the game was his season debut and the Helix offense is totally different with him on the field. Van has no offers but has been in talks with a lot of schools like Boise State, Cal, Oregon State and Michigan.
