Here another six offensive linemen that will help lead their teams this fall. As their stock rises, so does their programs’ chance of success. Few states can match the number of talented offensive linemen as Ohio in the class of 2022.
[player_tooltip player_id="34480" first="Augie" last="Groh"] 6’4” 265 Fairfield
Groh is an athletic right tackle that displays mobility when pulling and trapping or turning upfield to lead on the counter trey. He is also a very solid on his kick slide technique in pass protection then uses his hands effectively when striking a blow and stopping the charge of the pass rusher.
[player_tooltip player_id="123248" first="Khalil" last="Walker"] 6’3” 290 Canton McKinley
A thick and powerful offensive lineman, Walker is impossible to become a victim of the power rush. Once he locks on to a defensive lineman, it’s all over. Walker also has quick feet and can shuffle and mirror a rusher that tries to work the edges.
[player_tooltip player_id="117382" first="Tyler" last="O’Reilly"] 6’2” 265 Westerville South
Tyler plays with excellent leverage and his frame allows him to win the pad level battle against taller defensive linemen. O’Reilly is a tenacious blocker who prides himself in being a finisher of his blocks and sustains until the whistle blows.
[player_tooltip player_id="134535" first="Alistair" last="Larson"] 6’5” 280 Peninsula Woodridge
Larson is big man in a smaller school program that truly dominates his opponents because of his size, strength, and technical skills. This intimidating offensive tackle can decleat a defensive player with one strike of his powerful hands.
[player_tooltip player_id="88195" first="Ashton" last="Montgomery"] 6’3” 300 St. Ignatius
Montgomery plays physical and does an excellent job of leaning his 300 pounds on a defender that tries to take him on square up. He wipes out defenders when down blocking and double teaming. Run blocking is his forte but he can more than hold is own in pass protection.
[player_tooltip player_id="117445" first="Max" last="Martin-Lee"] 6’3” 300 Dublin Scioto
If you want a guy up front that can guarantee movement at the point of attack, Martin-Lee is your man. He is agile enough to pick up linebackers in space, and like on the line of scrimmage, he will own the opponent once he locks his hands into the frame of the defender.
