Defensive backs are some of the most athletic players on the field. They must possess quickness, be reliable tacklers, and reactors in space. Most defensive backs also play on the offensive side of the football and are major contributors on special teams. He has impressive closing speed on run support to the perimeter. He is a sure tackler in the openfield and gives up his body to make the play. He is versatile enough to play corner or safety. A physical tackler, Coppess likes to make chest to chest hits on the ball carrier. He fights through blockers to make the tackle on run support and is a quick reactor to passes on the perimeter. He’s a strong runner once he has the ball in his possession.
