Earlier this offseason, we took a look at the top five quarterbacks in our Class of 2022 rankings. However, in this class, we have 17 quarterbacks ranked. With so much talent on offer we need to give these prospects their due. Today, we will take a look at quarterbacks six through ten on this year’s list. There is an oasis of QB talent ready to shine in their Senior seasons here in Indiana. [player_tooltip player_id="39060" first="Anthony" last="Garzolini"] 6’5, 210 pounds, South Vermillion [player_tooltip player_id="39060" first="Anthony" last="Garzolini"] is a very impressive quarterback. Garzolini has good athleticism, allowing him to get out of the pocket and extend plays. He shows great decision-making while on the move, and can still make an accurate, on-time throw. Garzolini passed for 1,600 yards last year with 19 touchdowns. Garzolini takes great care of the football as he only threw six interceptions last year. [player_tooltip player_id="39060" first="Anthony" last="Garzolini"] has the prefect blend of play-making ability and poise that will allow him to be a great quarterback at the collegiate level. [player_tooltip player_id="98059" first="Reece" last="Lozano"], 6’1, 185 pounds, Bloomington North [player_tooltip player_id="98059" first="Reece" last="Lozano"] shows his ability to make great throws on the run. He also shows a willingness to stare-down the pass rush and still make a good throw, knowing that he will probably take a hit. Lozano is a quarterback who can make a great throw with any kind of route. Lozano consistently makes the right reads, whether it is in the passing game or when running the read option. This ability to see the field would probably explain why he only threw five interceptions as a Junior last season. [player_tooltip player_id="98059" first="Reece" last="Lozano"] is a very collected player, who checks all the boxes. [player_tooltip player_id="98018" first="Brady" last="Preston"], 6’2, 200 pounds, Lafayette Jefferson [player_tooltip player_id="98018" first="Brady" last="Preston"] is an extremely efficient and versatile quarterback. Preston shows his versatility in the fact that he is a three-sport athlete at Lafayette Jefferson. Preston threw for over 1,400 yards last year and he a solid 2-1 touchdown to interception ratio. Preston also has very good accuracy as he completed over 62% of his passes. Preston is also a threat on the ground. He ran for over 500 yards last year and had seven rushing touchdowns. Preston is an athletic and versatile player who makes good decisions and can find ways to make big plays. Preston would be the ideal college quarterback. [player_tooltip player_id="98073" first="Laban" last="Davis"], 6’0, 180 pounds, Eastside [player_tooltip player_id="98073" first="Laban" last="Davis"] is a great decision-maker. As a passer he reads the coverage exceptionally well. Overall, Davis is a player who sees the field better than most. Davis can also make a variety of throws to underneath, intermediate and deep routes. Davis shows remarkable poise each play. He can make plays when the pocket begins to collapse and when the play starts to break down. [player_tooltip player_id="98073" first="Laban" last="Davis"] is a true dual-threat quarterback, who can put an immense amount of pressure on the defense. Davis can be a dynamic playmaker at the next level. [player_tooltip player_id="98076" first="Maximus" last="Webster"], 6’1, 220 pounds, Westfield [player_tooltip player_id="98076" first="Maximus" last="Webster"] had a brilliant season for the Westfield Shamrocks a year ago, and he is poise for bigger things in 2021. Webster has tremendous arm talent. He throws a great deep ball and he can also drive the ball with the right amount of velocity to receivers running the underneath and intermediate routes. This would help explain why Webster eclipsed 2,000 yards passing a year ago. Webster has the ability to still push the ball down the field even while taking a hit. Webster can make great throws on the run. He threw 27 touchdown passes last year and he only threw three interceptions. [player_tooltip player_id="98076" first="Maximus" last="Webster"] has everything it takes to be a star at the next level. I would not be surprised to see him challenge for the number one quarterback spot on our list by the time the year is over. Indiana’s Class of 2022 with quarterback talent. This may go down as one of the state’s best classes at the position in quite some time. These guys possess every tool that a high major college head coach could possibly want. Just studying their film makes me so excited for the fall season. Fortunately for all of us here in Indiana, we have a front row seat for the show that these amazing student-athletes are set to put on this fall. bh
