Loved seeing the response that the All- Kenosha Super Team received. That would be a state bound team year in and year out. The interaction also included student athletes from other schools declaring that their city would be able to form a stacked team as well. So, I am back and ready to dive into the next city. This week I am going to assemble the All- Waukesha Super Team. The schools coming together to make up this Super Team include Waukesha North, Waukesha West, Waukesha South, and Catholic Memorial High Schools. I have a feeling this is going to be another strong team that would be a consistent state qualifier. Just like with the Kenosha Team, I will only be using players in one position. There will be 22 players making up this team. So, if a player is a two way athlete and I want to include them in the team I will have to decide what side of the ball I want them on. With each athlete I will include why I chose them for the spot I did. Let’s get into our second Super Team! Quarterback (1) [player_tooltip player_id="31415" first="Tak" last="Tateoka"], 2023- Waukesha South This was one of the easier choices as I went through the construction of this team. Tak is an up and coming QB that is currently our QB1 for the class of 2023. He has a lot of what you look for at a young age. He only got to play in 2 games last year due to injury and Covid, so I’m expecting him to really breakout this fall. Arm strength. Accuracy. Size. Ability to maneuver in the pocket. It’s all there. He would ball on this Super Team. Running Backs (2) [player_tooltip player_id="31227" first="Obacoso" last="Allen"], 2022- Catholic Memorial Obacoso is another member of this team that isn’t just the best RB in Waukesha, but one of the best in the state overall. His three down ability, speed, and vision to find the lanes behind the offensive line that I have created for this team would make him the ultimate weapon. The 5’10" 180 lbs junior would be my early pick for team MVP with how it is set up. [player_tooltip player_id="31102" first="Devon" last="Townsend"], 2021- Waukesha West The combination of Townsend and Allen in the backfield would be wildly unfair. The UW- La Crosse commit has the burst to utilize the running lanes set up by our dominant offensive line, and just like our RB1, he has the three down ability. We can do a lot of the same things with both RBs, so our offense would never slow down as we kept going up and down the field on teams. Wide Receivers (2) [player_tooltip player_id="30806" first="Dan" last="Kujawa"], 2021- Waukesha West This might be cheating because we have Dan ranked as a TE and that’s where he fits best at the next level, but we have another prospect at TE and I wasn’t going to get through this team without having Kujawa out there somehow. So, we are going to put him out wide. The 6’3" 205 lbs senior has experience out there and with that frame he is going to be able to box out DBs and go up and get the football at will. I wanted to put as many different types of receivers around Tak as I could. Dan is going to be more of the possession type. [player_tooltip player_id="104423" first="Franko" last="Williams"], 2023- Waukesha North Franko is going to be our deep threat/ field stretcher. The 6’ 155 lbs sophomore averaged 15 yards per reception in 2020. With his play speed and route running he is going to consistently create a lot of separation from DBs and give Tak a big area he can target. Just put it up high and let him go run underneath it. Opponents are going to need several different types of DBs to be able to cover all these receiving threats. Tight End (1) [player_tooltip player_id="30991" first="Clayton" last="Schwalbe"], 2021- Waukesha North We round out the receiving threats, and also begin our impact blockers, with Clayton at TE. The 6’4" 230 lbs Oshkosh commit is going to be a dominant chess piece on this offense. We can use him inline or split him out wide. He will be able to make an impact as a run blocker and with his size even when he is covered he is still open. He is going to make an impact on every snap he is on the field, whether it is a run or a pass. Offensive Line (5) Gunnar Hanson, 2023- Waukesha West Our first piece of potentially the best combination of offensive line talent that we can make in this city by city experiment is Gunnar Hanson. The 6’5" 310 lbs sophomore spent time at OT and OG this past fall. We are going to slot him in at the LT spot. Gunnar is absolutely massive. The impressive play strength he already possesses is only going to become more and more dominant as he develops his skill over the next couple of seasons. Gunnar is definitely an up and coming prospect to keep an eye on. [player_tooltip player_id="31319" first="Adam" last="Boehm"], 2022- Catholic Memorial Adam is the most athletic piece of this dominant offensive line. He does a great job of opening huge lanes in the run game with double teams and easily gets to the second level as well as pulling and leading far outside the tackle box if asked to. The 5’10" 245 lbs OG moves like a player 50 lbs lighter than he is. He is so smooth and can change directions out in space to hit his blocks with no issue. He slides in perfectly at one of our guard spots on this roster. [player_tooltip player_id="30740" first="Jim" last="Schwaab"], 2021- Catholic Memorial I couldn’t ask for a better player at the center of our offensive line. The 6’4" 290 lbs Air Force commit has so much to offer this team. He has the strength to reset the line of scrimmage as he drives defenders off the ball. He is also effective when he pulls, which is not an easy task for a center. With Jim at the center of this line and leading the way I believe that it could be the best offensive line in the state. [player_tooltip player_id="31245" first="Connor" last="Rux"], 2022- Waukesha West I don’t see 2020 film, but based off his sophomore film Connor is a must start at this position. At 6’2" 270 lbs, Rux has the prototypical size and uses it well. He pulls and hits his target with ease consistently and he has the strength and finish to maul defenders. He is the exact kind of tone setter we want in the trenches for this team. [player_tooltip player_id="31226" first="Josiah" last="Nathaniel"], 2022- Catholic Memorial Our right tackle is going to be manned by another member of the Catholic Memorial offensive line. Josiah checks in at 5’11" 260 lbs with strong lateral agility and overall athleticism that he pairs with the nasty mentality and finish to his blocks that makes him the perfect fit on this offensive line. I want to build a line that can win with power and win with athleticism. Josiah matches perfectly. Whatever we need he can execute it. Defensive Line (4) [player_tooltip player_id="94754" first="Lajarrion" last="Griffin"], 2021- Waukesha South At one of our DE spots we have an uncommitted senior. I recommend diving into the 6'1" 225 lbs film. He has some impressive initial burst out of his stance that gives him the upper hand on offensive linemen. That burst allows him to not only get around the edge, but also cross the face of offensive linemen. He is going to provide us a reliable pass rusher and a defender that has the strength to hold up against the run game. [player_tooltip player_id="31308" first="Mila" last="Stephens Jr"], 2022- Catholic Memorial With the athletes we have flying around this defense it is going to be so unfair having this immovable beast in the middle of our defense. Mila checks in at 6' 350 lbs and he knows how to use it to the max. The most impressive part, besides the size/strength combination, is that Mila has such active hands. He isn't someone that is going to just lean on linemen. He is going to be using those heavy hands to maximize not only that size, but his surprising athleticism. He is going to own the trenches for us. [player_tooltip player_id="31358" first="Morgan" last="McKnight"], 2022- Catholic Memorial Right next to Mila we are going to put his teammate Morgan. Morgan plays more 3-4 DE, but for this exercise we are going to slide him in a little bit and have him dominate interior linemen with his 6'3" 255 lbs frame. Just like his teammate, Morgan does a great job of playing with his hands. This Super Team is going to have four defensive linemen that need to be double teamed. Since that's not possible I expect this group to own the line of scrimmage and be insanely disruptive. [player_tooltip player_id="31412" first="Keith" last="Williams"], 2023- Catholic Memorial Keith is ready to be the next man up when it comes to top DL prospects in the state. He was 6'1" 225 lbs as a sophomore and has impressive tape at DE. His strength and hand usage paired with his overall athleticism is going to provide us with a dominant force for years to come on this Super Team. I have a feeling he is going to be a popular name on the recruiting circuit over the next year. Linebackers (3) [player_tooltip player_id="31217" first="Langston" last="Latham"], 2022- Catholic Memorial Langston is a no doubter when it comes to this Super Team. He is one of the most versatile LBs in the state. He can rush off the edge, he is very effective dropping into coverage, and can set a strong edge against the outside run. The 6'2" 220 lbs checks off so many traits that you look for. I am expecting a huge fall for him and he would be a dominant force on this defense. [player_tooltip player_id="31040" first="Jack" last="Klussendorf"], 2021- Waukesha North Like I said with Langston, this is probably cheating having all these athletic outside LBs filling up my LB corp, but we are trying to build the best team possible and these are the best LBs in the city. Jack has a solid blend of power and speed that he uses to create consistent pass rush pressure. It also leads to him making a lot of TFLs against the run game. [player_tooltip player_id="31417" first="CJ" last="Johnson"], 2023- Waukesha South CJ is going to be the muscle/tone setter of the LB corp. The young buck knows how to drop the hammer on ball carriers and receivers. Even when he doesn't get a good shot it seems like CJ is still delivering big hits. It really shows off his strength and burst in short areas. Johnson is going to be an LB to follow going forward and will be the man in the middle for us on this defense. Cornerbacks (2) [player_tooltip player_id="94717" first="Sebastian" last="Jefferson"], 2021- Waukesha South Sebastian is an uncommitted 2021 prospect, and I highly recommend checking him out. I saw him live at the Prep Redzone Wisconsin Showcase last December and he was one of the best in coverage during the one on one battles. His reactive athleticism and loose hips are going to allow him to turn and run with a lot of receivers, and with the safeties we have over the top on this team, he will be able to be super aggressive at the catch point. [player_tooltip player_id="31359" first="Marvell" last="Lee"], 2022- Catholic Memorial At CB on the other side we are going with 5’11’’ 160 lbs [player_tooltip player_id="31359" first="Marvell" last="Lee"]. I wasn’t able to find 2020 film, but just off the sophomore film you see the ability to read and react and the closing speed to get himself in the right place at the right time. His film also shows a kid that isn’t afraid to step up and make a tackle against the outside run. Safeties (2) [player_tooltip player_id="30784" first="Alex" last="Oechsner"], 2021- Catholic Memorial I did think about making Alex a member of the offense, but I wanted to put him where he could really show off his talents. His ability to make plays at every level of the defense is going to make him the ultimate chess piece for our defense. If we need him to step into the box to defend the run, cover a deep half, or even man up a receiver he can do it. You sleep easier knowing you have that type of weapon on your defense. [player_tooltip player_id="30997" first="CJ" last="Grisar"], 2021- Waukesha West I don’t think many teams can field two Division 1 safeties. That’s what we get to do here. Grisar is going to be able to be just as versatile as Alex. I’ve been a huge fan of Grisar’s film. The kid flies around and makes plays week in and week out. With him back there sniffing out plays and reacting as quickly as he does opposing offenses are going to have a hard time getting much of anything going.
