Southwest Ohio’s Greater Catholic Conference – North Continued

Over the next few weeks, Coach Bill Conley and I, will preview the best conferences and players within them.  Featured below are the best 2022 players from Southwest Ohio’s GCL. <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Archbishop Alter </strong></span> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="34374" first="CJ" last="Hicks"]</strong> - LB - 6’4 220 - Much has been written about CJ.  He is committed to Ohio State and has all the makings of a player to be the next Buckeye great and high draft pick.  A very rare combination of extreme talent, physicality, and football acumen.  His athleticism is off the charts.  His technique is very advanced.  He is easily one of the top players in the country. HUDL: https://www.hudl.com/profile/10924939/CJ-Hicks <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="34380" first="Derrick" last="Shepard"]</strong> - DT - 6’5 295 - Derrick is a hard commit at Cincinnati.  He is very powerful DL who uses his size and athleticism to dominate offensive players.  Snap after snap he plays in the backfield.  He has a devastating punch and always locks out his blockers.  He moves really well laterally and can stop and reverse quickly vertically.  Has a couple above average pass rush moves and wreaks havoc on opposing QB’s.  Sound tackler who rarely loses his grasp. HUDL: https://www.hudl.com/profile/12855799/Derrick-Shepard <strong>Christian Kirenga</strong> - CB - 6’1 180 - Has a couple of offers on the table.  He is a very polished and athletic corner.  Equally adept and man and zone coverage.  Has really good athleticism to lock down anyone.  Plays the ball in the air well and attacks it with his hands.  He is a good in phase technician with a good handle on looking and leaning.  More of an outside corner at the next level. HUDL: https://www.hudl.com/profile/13135178/Christian-Kirenga <strong>Chase Stone</strong> - CB - 5’11 180 - Dynamic duo with Christian.  He is a lock down player with great hips and athleticism.  Very good at playing the ball through the receiver.  Has a good sense of pedal and weave and uses his speed to close on routes.  He is a very physical player who tackles well.  Quick feet with fast trigger transitions.  No offers yet but should have a couple. HUDL: https://www.hudl.com/profile/14493248/Chase-Stone <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Chaminade Julienne</strong></span> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="34446" first="Kenyon" last="Owens"]</strong> - WR - 6’1 185 - Kenyon is uber talented receiver.  He has great speed, height, and length to go up and make all the catches.  He attacks the ball in the air with his hands and eyes.  Very good wiggle in the open field.  He is dynamic with the ball in his hands and can score from anywhere on the field.  They use him in the run game as well.  He is a person who can’t be passed up this season. HUDL: https://www.hudl.com/profile/10750127/Kenyon-Owens <strong>Luke Chandler</strong> - QB - 6’2 186 - Luke is a big and athletic QB with a great release and ability to get the ball downfield.  He is very accurate and make all the throws with velocity.  He seems to read the RPO well and gets the ball out quickly.  His eyes are reading the full field and his lower body mechanics are advanced.  I would put him up their with some of the best. HUDL: https://www.hudl.com/profile/12055355/Luke-Chandler <strong>Carson Swisher</strong> - MLB - 6’0 205 - Very good LB/FB worth taking a good look at.  He is good technician and reads plays well.  His patience in the box puts him in good spots.  He is a good pass dropper and is routinely in the correct spot to play the receiver.  He is an aggressive FB with good ability to get after it.
