Today, we’ll be looking at players that have created that buzz for themselves on the recruiting scene. This two-part series will feature prospects that have at least one offer. It’s fresh in the game for this recruiting class, but there’s a bunch of talent in this class not on the radar. Here are a few 2023 prospects that are making the most noise right now in New Jersey. (Part 2 of 2).
Adon Shuler Ι 6-1 Ι 185 Ι 190 Ι Athlete Ι Irvington HS Ι 2023
Shuler holds offers from West Virginia, Temple, Syracuse, Penn State, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Maryland, Florida, Georgia Tech, and Cincinnati. Rutgers has not offered him yet. Shuler’s highlights are littered with interceptions and pass breakups, showing he’s a true ballhawk. He shows great range against both the pass and the run. Shuler is more than willing to charge downhill and attack in run support.
Austen Frattura Ι 6-1 Ι 170 Ι Quarterback Ι Sparta HS Ι 2023
Frattura’s lone offer is from Pittsburgh. During the 2020 season, he completed 116-out-of-180 passes for 1,361 yards, 12 touchdowns, and four interceptions. Keep in mind that he did not play a full slate of games because of COVID-19. In his two years as a starter, he’s thrown for 3,824 yards, 40 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He should pick up more Division I offers during the offseason.
Chase Bisontis Ι 6-5 Ι 290 Ι Offensive Tackle Ι Don Bosco Prep Ι 2023
Bisontis’ 20-plus offers include Penn State, Ohio State, Rutgers, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Maryland. He’s an elite prospect that is big, wide, and very athletic. Bisontis is quick out of the gates and bulldozers down blocks. He plays with a nasty disposition. Bisontis is agile and moves like a tight end in space to adjust to moving targets. I could go on and on about him. He’s that good.
DJ Samuels Ι 6-1 Ι 235 Ι Defensive End Ι Bergen Catholic HS Ι 2023
Samuels has an offer from Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, and Virginia. He’s so talented that you can almost overlook him being undersized for his current position. Samuels is loose, fluid, agile, aggressive, and explosive. He’ll most likely end up as a defensive tackle at the collegiate level.
Eric King Ι 6-4 Ι 298 Ι Offensive Tackle Ι St. Peter’s Prep HS Ι 2023
King has offers from UMass, Rutgers, and Syracuse. I love the way he extends his hands while he’s pass blocking. He’s being projected as a guard at the next level. King maintains decent slide quickness to the top of the arc.
Ejani Shakir Ι 6-0 Ι 170 Ι Athlete Ι Pennsauken Ι 2023
Shakir has offers from Boston College, Florida State, Miami (FL), Penn State, Rutgers, and West Virginia.
Famah Toure Ι 6-3 Ι 185 Ι Wide Receiver Ι Irvington HS Ι 2023
Toure has offers from Rutgers and Temple. He is also getting interest from Howard, Maryland, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse.
Jabriel Mace Ι 5-10 Ι 170 Ι Running Back Ι Mainland Regional HS Ι 2023
Rutgers and Syracuse are Mace’s current offers.
James Heard Ι 6-3 Ι 210 Ι Outside Linebacker Ι Eastern HS Ι2023
In three games, Heard made 25 total tackles (20 solo) and sacked the quarterback 3.5 times. He’s an edge prospect that proved that he was hard to block against both the run and the pass. Heard has offers from Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers, Temple, Texas A&M, and West Virginia. In short, he’s clearly on the radar of plenty of college football teams.
