To finish things out for the Class of 2024 introductory rankings in the great state of Wisconsin I wanted to finish out our evaluation portion of the content by analyzing the final ten recruits ranked on our Top-20. Before we get going, I just wanted to quickly preface things by mentioning that the last ten will be a little different in terms of evals. because unlike a lot of the Top-10, these kids have mostly JV film. Now, success and dominance at the JV level does show promise of translating the varsity level, but it is still important to remember that you can’t really ever have a trustworthy evaluation based on only junior varsity reps. However, a lot of these kids show off a good variety of skill and athleticism for their age, so hopefully we’ll be seeing them on the varsity level soon. Check out what PrepRedzoneWI likes about these athletes before, and thank for reading!
#11: [player_tooltip player_id="104989" first="Peyton" last="Snyder"] (Mondovi) RB. A nice sized JV running back who can take it between the tackles or out on the edge, he’s got some breakaway speed that seems to catch defenders a little off guard and possesses the lower body strength to run through weaker tackle attempts. I like his vision and overall physicality as well, and I think he’d be able to help the Mondovi varsity squad in some way, shape, or form next season.
#12: [player_tooltip player_id="104998" first="Gus" last="Kelly"] (Oconomowoc) DB. Showed off a comfortability in zone coverage responsibilities as well as ball skills as a junior varsity CB and WR in his freshman tape, as well as big play speed and an ability to make people miss. I also am intrigued by his promise as a route runner, as he can stick his foot in the ground and break off routes and also shows some good burst once he gets in possession of the football. There’s a lot to like on his freshman year tape and I hope he keeps working hard and developing his skillset.
#13: [player_tooltip player_id="104983" first="Jason" last="Ward"] (Oconomowoc) WR. 5’10, 145 lbs. Back-to-back Raccoons to grace the Top-15 here as wideout [player_tooltip player_id="104983" first="Jason" last="Ward"] follows up teammate Kelly at the #13 spot. Ward’s tape displays a deep-threat of a WR as well as the athletic ability to help with kick returns, and a long-strider with dangerous YAC ability and some game-changing speed. He got himself very open on multiple occasions, but also broke out TD runs after the catch with defenders all around the area. His speed is legit at the JV level and I’m excited to see how that translates to varsity.
#14: [player_tooltip player_id="104984" first="Langdon" last="Nordgaard"] (West De Pere) WR. 6’2, 170 lbs. Only had a few different game clips on his Hudl page but demonstrated some really nice ball-tracking ability and made some fully extended, impressive catches to go along with his great size that will help him in his extended role at the varsity level. He may have gotten varsity reps when WDP played Seymour Community this past Fall, but it was hard to tell. If he did however, that film was really impressive and showed off a high ceiling for a future WR prospect.
#15: [player_tooltip player_id="104990" first="Will" last="Van Laanen"] (Homestead) RB. Had five game films on his Hudl page from 2020 that showed a powerful ball-carrier who can scamper and bounce tacklers off his legs if they don’t come correctly. He’s able to bounce things outside when necessary and got some good reps running the ball as a QB, and for his size he’s a strong runner with good balance and a nice ability to run through weaker tackle attempts without losing momentum. I hope he keeps playing some RB at the varsity level!
#16: [player_tooltip player_id="104994" first="Finnley" last="Doriot"] (Kaukauna) QB. 6’ 150 lbs. In his three games on Hudl from 2020 Doriot showed that he can dink and dunk an offense downfield and make shorter, accurate throws that require timing from the QB position. He’s tall in the pocket and has a quick release and leads receivers open. With seemingly good command of the offense and a strong pocket-passer of a QB, there’s a lot to like if you’re a Kaukauna coach anticipating who will take over your offense. Keep up the good work, Finnley!
#17: [player_tooltip player_id="104997" first="Daylan" last="Moreno"] (Bradford) DL. 6’, 200 lbs. Although he only had film against Tremper and Indian Trail, Moreno has good size for a freshman and was not scared to lay the wood when give the chance. I liked how he used his hands as well, and with Bradford’s wealth of talent and continual development of their prospects I think the future is bright for the freshman defensive lineman.
#18: [player_tooltip player_id="104991" first="Jayden" last="Boyce"] (Saint Croix Central) RB. Only has one game of film from this past season but in the more than a minute of footage I really liked what I saw in-terms of speed and overall elusiveness from Boyce. He looked like a natural running the rock, and not to mention Saint Croix Central’s talent as of late I hope he keeps working to improve his game day by day.
#19: [player_tooltip player_id="105000" first="Spencer" last="Stiemke"] (Mukwonago) DL. 6’1, 280 lbs. Playing at a high-powered Division1 like Mukwonago ain’t no joke, so to see Stiemke eat up double teams and stuff RBs like he’s stuffing peppers makes me really excited for his future. He’s got the best size of anyone on this list, but showed in his freshman tape that he carries it pretty well and can still move and pursue ball-carriers when necessary. He’s a nice looking DL prospect and has the potential to move up on this list more than almost anyone in my opinion. He’s a name we’ll be hearing more about in the future I hope!
#20: [player_tooltip player_id="104999" first="Tucker" last="Grundahl"] (DeForest) DB. No film on Tucker, but with his older brother signing to powerhouse UW-Whitewater as a DB after a very successful career as a Norski I think there's a good bet that the younger Grundahl will be able to play some ball himself.
