Overall MVP: Eoghan Kerry, Mater Dei, DL/LB, 2022 – Explosive and versatile, he participated in both DL and LB drills and was arguably the best at both positions. Has seven offers to his name so far but still is underrecruited given his talent and upside. Recruitment would look a lot different if he had junior film.
Offensive MVP: Luca Calderella, Valley Christian (Cerritos), WR, 2021 – One of the more slept on 2021 recruits in southern CA. Great size, length, and frame with plus athleticism, hands, and catch radius. Power 5 ability, whoever signs him is getting a steal late.
Defensive MVP: Jahlil Florence, Lincoln, DB, 2022 – Strong physical skillset. Good frame and length at 6’1″ 180 lbs. Had one of the best 40 times on the day at 4.5 flat and also won the fastest man competition. Great burst out of his break and short area quickness. Projected to be a major D1 recruit once he gets some game experience.
2022 MVP Offense: Brandon Rose Brandon Rose 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Murrieta Valley | 2022 State CA , Murrieta Valley, QB – Flashed throughout the day with his good size and quick/compact release. Hit his targets all day with accuracy and velocity. Shows strong mechanics and is a sneaky athlete that can make plays with his legs. He’s developing into one of the top 2022 signal callers on the west coast.
2022 MVP Defense: Justin Stearns, St. Augustine, LB – Capable of playing multiple positions at the college level with his long and athletic frame. Has really grown into his body and improved his hip flexibility and change of direction. High ceiling that has D1 talent.
2022 MVP Lineman: Sione Moa, Mater Dei, DL – Good strong frame at 6’2″ 275 lbs. with a strong upper body. Plays with good leverage and power at the POA. Quick feet and plus mobility for a guy his size. Shows good technique and use of hands.
2023 MVP Offense: Javance Tupouata-Johnson, Notre Dame, QB – One of the more promising prospects in the 2023 class. Great frame and physical attributes for a young QB at 6’3″ 205 lbs. He’s a smooth athlete with a big arm. The ball flies out of his hand with velocity at all three depths showing good touch and trajectory. Good ability to throw on the run to either direction. Will be one of the top QB recruits in the 2023 class.
2023 MVP Defense: David Peevy, Lincoln, LB – Strong and athletic frame with great length. He’s a plus athlete with quick feet and good lateral agility. Loved to see his short area burst and acceleration. Good foundation of natural ability and speed.
2023 MVP Lineman: Jonah Rodriguez Jonah Rodriguez 6'4" | 270 lbs | OL Madison - San Diego | 2023 State CA , Madison, OL – Good size to build on at 6’3″ 260 lbs. He’s a strong athlete with good feet and mobility. Shows good bend and flexibility in the hips and ankles. High upside.
2024 MVP Lineman: Leehanu Atuatasi, Mater Dei, OL – Well balanced frame with a strong lower half measuring in at 5’11″ 308 lbs. Shows quick feet and good power/leverage at the POA. Great potential as a Power 5 interior offensive lineman.
2024 MVP Offense: Jason Robinson, Los Alamitos, WR – Great quick twitch athlete with speed and acceleration out of his breaks. One of the top route runners at the camp with his ability to change directions on a dime and really sell his routes. Can already see the explosiveness at a young age. He will be one to watch as he continues to develop.
2024 MVP Defense: Elijah Bradley, Loyola, DB – Shows a ton of potential and could develop into the next major DB recruit out of Loyola in their long history of producing top DB’s. He’s a natural athlete with fluid hips and a good transition out of his back pedal. Good leg drive out of his breaks.
QB MVP: Eli Brickhandler, Pittsburg, 2021 – Natural passer and playmaker that has a special ability to improvise and make something out of nothing. He’s savvy with his movement and can deliver strong and accurate passes on the run and from various arm angles. He’s a competitor and winner that continues to improve and produce strong performances at off season camps.
RB MVP: Lucky Sutton, Cathedral Catholic, 2022 – Good strong frame at 6’ 200 lbs. He’s a downhill slasher that can make quick lateral cuts and get north/south. He’s shifty in the open field and possesses good top end/breakaway speed. Also showed good hands and route running ability.
WR MVP: Jeremiah McClure, St. Augustine, 2023 – Explosive playmaker with speed. He’s a great natural athlete with tons of raw ability as a route runner and a pass catcher. Colleges will love his ability to create separation with his burst and acceleration out his cuts. Shows a great ability to track and adjust to ball flight while flashing the body control and hands to make highlight reel receptions.
TE MVP: Jayden Virgin, Mt. Carmel, 2022 – Versatile athlete with size at 6’2″ 220 lbs. Fluid movement and smooth athleticism for his size. Shows good feet and ability to change levels to transition in and out of his breaks. Strong and reliable hands, catches everything away from his body. He’ll be a breakout prospect soon with his ability to play all over the field.
OL MVP: Jake Steele, Murrieta Valley, 2022 – Steele caught the eye of a lot of scouts and coaches throughout the day with his athleticism, mobility, and technique. Showed great feet and lateral agility in drills. Has continued to improve year over year and proved he can be a strong interior lineman at the D1 level.
LB MVP: Cliffton Weber, Liberty (NV), 2022 – Big, physical LB out of Las Vegas powerhouse Liberty HS. Strong and powerful frame for a college level ILB at 6’0″ 240 lbs. He’s a high motor guy that can move both downhill to fill a gap and laterally to make plays sideline to sideline. He’s quick, decisive, and efficient with his movement.
DL MVP: Malachi Cooper, Serra (San Diego), 2021 – Has continued to add good weight to his athletic but physically imposing frame at 6’4″ 265 lbs. Has a good combination of athleticism and power. He showed good pad level/leverage to match his movement and flexibility. Has the ability to physically overpower opponents when he wants too. Committed to San Diego.
DB MVP: Donovan Saunders, Cathedral Catholic, 2022 – Exceptional natural athlete with length at 6’4″. He’s a strider that can cover sideline to sideline using his great range. Good burst out of his breaks allows him to quickly recover and close space in coverage. Recruiting stock should rise if he continues on the same trajectory.
