The Class of 2022 is now in the limelight. This group of elite talent will prepare to take the next step towards a successful final season. This begins at the most important position on the field. New Jersey is full of quarterback talent so let’s take a look at some of the top in the state. [player_tooltip player_id="27962" first="Peter" last="Delaportas"] | Pope John XXIII Delaportas is currently the top ranked quarterback in New Jersey. The Boston College commit is a pro-style quarterback with great size and a strong arm. At 6-4, Delaportas can scan the field effectively and make accurate throws at any level. His arm strength and accuracy make him a no-brainer at the next level. [player_tooltip player_id="27966" first="Steven" last="Angeli"] | Bergen Catholic Angeli has been a target for many schools but Notre Dame has stood out. The Irish would get a modern-day quarterback. He is a pro-style player under center but has great mobility and knows how to use his legs. He has all the physical tools along with great mechanics with his feet and release. [player_tooltip player_id="27971" first="Donovan" last="Leary"] | Timber Creek Leary is a player who has the ball explode out of his hand when he throws. He impresses when watching live because of his raw ability to make any throw on the field. Leary is a drop-back passer who has a high IQ and knows how to make the right decision. His arm strength and accuracy will have him climbing up rankings even further. [player_tooltip player_id="27973" first="Devin" last="Kargman"] | Woodrow Wilson Kargman is a quarterback who has jumped into radars this past season -- and for good reason. The Woodrow Wilson product will have programs calling all throughout his final season because of his natural talent. The pro-style passer is just that under center. He has the ability to pick a defense apart and does it using his mental game along with elite physical tools. [player_tooltip player_id="27999" first="Devion" last="Sheppard"] | West Side Sheppard is a physical specimen. He is built like a defensive end but plays quarterback. At 6-4, 220 pounds, Sheppard has a build that already puts him in a dominant position. He has showed his ability to be a leader, which is extremely important under center. Sheppard has a quick release and scans the field well going through his options. [player_tooltip player_id="28002" first="Jack" last="Young"] | Newton Newton is a program that historically likes to run the football but that has changed with Young running the show. He likes to operate out of the shotgun and get that extra second. He is a quarterback who can use his legs to make a play. His ability to throw on the run if next level and a huge advantage. He will continue to improve and fine tune his skills next season. [player_tooltip player_id="28007" first="Alex" last="Brown"] | Mater Dei Mater Dei is one of the top programs in the Shore Conference and they are led by their two-year starter. Brown is a strong armed quarterback but his accuracy is what sets him apart. Brown can make any throw on the field and execute it perfectly.
