Class of 2022 – Kicking The Competition

No matter where they train or compete, the end result is that Florida special teams performers are making their way to the top. As we saw with the Class of 2021, when it comes to kickers and punters, the Sunshine State is truly grabbing the spotlight. <img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-101754" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/01/Prep-Redzone-GrabbingtheSpotlight-14-300x187.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="187" />Many who follow kicking in this state believe there has been more emphasis put into special teams – and it has paid off – as these specialists are finding their way on to major college roster all over the nation. The showcases that are held provide enough competition where colleges and universities across the country have the chance to see. The Class of 2022 for this state is going to be fun to watch. There are elite kickers who have already shown that they are right there with the rest of the nation. As we continue to do throughout the course of a year, here are some prospects to keep an eye on. These five have already been on the radar screen and are picking up huge offers <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="50085" first="Will" last="Bettridge"], Miami Gulliver Prep. </strong>No matter where he goes or who he competes against, this impressive athlete, who just happens to be a standout basketball player and baseball pitcher is as good as you get nationally. He seems to turn on his best when he is competing in showcases. This is a program definer – because of his ability to kick, kickoff and punt if needed to do so. Has grown three inches and added distance over the past year. Holds down a 4.2 GPA in the classroom. The nation’s best? Kick, punt and kickoff – and as he attended more events – everyone had the chance to see what he can do. Solid performer, he moved up in the rankings in both kicking and punting. What this young man has been able to do – as a kicker that turned heads at a camp when he was easily able to hit a 57 yard FG off the ground to win the competition.
