With 10 players inside the Prep Red Zone Class of 2022 state rankings top 100 and another 15 in the bottom half, the Central Savannah River Area is chock full of talent.
It includes eight-man football players, those in the SCHSL’s Class 4A, and several points in between. After a relative dip in the area’s recruiting scene this year, the CSRA is going to be a boon for future college players next December and February.
We broke down the CSRA’s best players in this five-part series.

SCHOOL: Williston-Elko
POSITION: Running back
ANALYSIS: While playing behind a senior, Singleton went for 364 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground and another 251 and a score receiving. Those figures could get dwarfed in 2021.

SCHOOL: Williston-Elko
POSITION: Defensive back
ANALYSIS: Washington is so good at high-pointing passes - probably because of his time at receiver - that he frequently looks as if he’s completing the route for the opposite team.

SCHOOL: South Aiken
POSITION: Defensive back
ANALYSIS: The Thoroughbreds’ safety was in on 30 stops as a junior, and he also picked off a pair of passes. What’s more, it came against mostly decent competition.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>

SCHOOL: North Augusta
POSITION: Quarterback
ANALYSIS: Harrell was a big reason for North Augusta’s regular-season success and a playoff victory, as he threw for 1,869 yards and nine touchdowns and rushed for another 271 and nine.

POSITION: K
ANALYSIS: Even limited attempts last season didn’t stop Stevens from performing when he got opportunities. He was 11-of-13 on PATs and hit two field goals, including a 40 yarder.
