Sedgwick County cruised to a 72-32 win over Sanford in the Class 8-man state championship game on Dec. 3 to win its sixth consecutive state title. They join Limon as the only other program to win six straight titles in the history of Colorado high school football, according to Dan Morhmann in a story for CHSAANow.com.
Ehmke was on point for the offense in the game finding his receivers and letting them go for big plays and touchdowns. In the first half alone, he had a perfect 100 percent completion rate in the first half alone.

He would finish completing all nine of his passes for 263 yards and five touchdowns and would rush for a long touchdown run as well to be named the MVP of the game.
His favorite target to go to was Terrance Heath. He made plays down the field on the long ball, but he also did plenty of work after the catch with his speed to burn past defenders. Jaciel Villalobos was another reliable target to throw to in the win.
The team also had success running the ball with Brody Parker and had a dominant game on the offensive line with Angel Nunez, Fabian Lopez and Nolan Carlson having a big game. Sedgwick County scored 72 points, setting the record for the most points scored by an 8-man team in the state championship game.
Sanford gave a good effort in its first ever appearance in the state championship game. Kelton Garner had four rushing touchdowns in the game and was the key player for the Indians. Springing him in the run game were Omar Guerrero, Brett Price and Ruben Chavez on the offensive line.
