With the fourth week of the playoffs finished, it is time to highlight some of the top performances across the state. This week we have a good mix of repeat players as well as some who haven’t been on this list as of late. Let’s check out the players of the week for the third round of the playoffs
<span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Class 6A</strong></span>
[player_tooltip player_id="48281" first="Grant" last="Lohr"] <strong>- Jenks</strong>
As you’ve already seen, Jenks rolled over Santa Fe for their 17th state title this weekend. They had some veterans step up in big ways and perhaps none of them were bigger than Senior RB/DB [player_tooltip player_id="48281" first="Grant" last="Lohr"]. Lohr ground the Santa Fe defense down over the course of the game with 154 yards and a touchdown on 33 carries. The Trojans leaned on him heavily and he delivered time and time again. Lohr will finish his career as a state champion.
[player_tooltip player_id="38679" first="Braylin" last="Presley"] <strong>- Bixby</strong>
Seems like this list is turning into a [player_tooltip player_id="38679" first="Braylin" last="Presley"] highlight page because we feature him nearly every week. And when he runs for 218 yards and a touchdown on 35 carries in the state championship game it is hard to keep him off. Presley has proven all season he is going to produce at a high level no matter who the opponent is or what the stage is. He will go into his Senior year in 2021 as a 3-time state champion and one of the most electric players in the state.
<span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Class 5A</strong></span>
<strong>Cole Limber - McGuinness</strong>
McGuinness needed some late-game heroics to come out with a win on Friday night and Cole Limber was there to deliver the game-winning touchdown in the last minute of the game on a pass from [player_tooltip player_id="38557" first="Luke" last="Tarman"]. On the night overall, Limber caught 8 balls for 114 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Irish will get a rematch in Wantland against Carl Albert this weekend for the state championship.
[player_tooltip player_id="38534" first="Ben" last="Harris"] <strong>- Carl Albert</strong>
Carl Albert came into Friday’s game looking to defend their title in 5A for the 5th time and they did just that thanks in large part to their Senior QB [player_tooltip player_id="38534" first="Ben" last="Harris"]. Harris threw for 188 yards and a touchdown and ran for 199 yards on 14 carries. The Titans will square off with Bishop McGuinness for the state title on Saturday.
<span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Class 4A</strong></span>
<strong>Braden Drake - Wagoner</strong>
With Weatherford out of the equation on their side of the bracket, Wagoner cruised to a 40-13 victory over Cushing in their semifinal matchup on Friday with some big performances from their veterans such as Braden Drake. Drake ran the ball for 214 yards and a touchdown on offense and had a handful of tackles on defense with some key pass deflections as well. Wagoner will face Clinton in Wantland for the 4A state championship on Saturday.
<span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Class 3A</strong></span>
[player_tooltip player_id="38543" first="Kolbe" last="Katsis"] <strong>- Lincoln Christian</strong>
Katsis had possibly the best performance of the week and the Bulldogs needed every play of it to escape with a win over Heritage Hall. Katsis had 188 yards and 2 TDs rushing, 72 yards and a TD receiving, and a highlight reel worthy one-handed INT in their semifinal victory. Katsis and Lincoln Christian will play Holland Hall for the state championship on Friday night.
<strong>Holt Heldebrand - Holland Hall</strong>
Holland Hall cruised to a semifinal victory with a dominant performance from their defense led by Holt Heldebrand. Heldebrand finished the night with four tackles and 2 key interceptions. Holland Hall will take on Lincoln Christian for the 3A title in their next game.
<span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Class 2A</strong></span>
[player_tooltip player_id="38734" first="Collin" last="Matteson"] <strong>- Oklahoma Christian School</strong>
Matteson has found himself on this list time multiple times this season and for good reason. Matteson had 2 interceptions and 7 tackles on defense and added 142 yards receiving on offense. The Saints will play Metro Christian on Friday in the 2A semifinals.
[player_tooltip player_id="38669" first="CJ" last="Brown"] <strong>- Beggs</strong>
Beggs has cruised through the 2A playoffs to this point thanks to some big performances from players such as Brown. CJ ran for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns in Beggs quarterfinal win over Frederick. Brown and Beggs will take on Washington in the semifinals in their next game.
[player_tooltip player_id="38790" first="Kirk" last="Francis"] <strong>- Metro Christian</strong>
Another candidate for best of the week could go to [player_tooltip player_id="38790" first="Kirk" last="Francis"]. the Metro QB went 31-41 for 374 yards and 4 touchdowns including the game-winning touchdown with under a minute left in the game. Francis and Metro Christian will take on OCS in the semifinals on Friday night.
<span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Class A</strong></span>
[player_tooltip player_id="53320" first="Landon" last="Lagasse"] <strong>- Cashion</strong>
Cashion has been one of the top offenses in the state all season and has produced some incredible stat lines like [player_tooltip player_id="53320" first="Landon" last="Lagasse"]’s this last week. In the win over Woodland, Lagasse caught 6 passes for 146 yards and 3 touchdowns. Cashion will take on Pawhuska in a highly anticipated semifinal matchup this Friday night.
[player_tooltip player_id="38509" first="Bryce" last="Drummond"] <strong>- Pawhuska</strong>
Last but certainly not least, is the North Texas commit, [player_tooltip player_id="38509" first="Bryce" last="Drummond"]. Drummond and Pawhuska have broken records this year offensively and have somehow gone sort of under that radar with all the state titles being played recently. Nevertheless, Drummond is still playing lights out football. He threw for 313 yards and 5 touchdowns on 22 completions and added 45 yards rushing on 3 carries as well. Pawhuska will face Cashion in the Class A semifinals on Friday night.
