With this pandemic causing so many changes this season in high school football, getting exposure from college coaches was certainly non existent in 2020.
The Coronavirus put everyone on the shelf for much of the country, sending many athletes into a panic about the future on the football field.
With this pandemic spreading throughout the nation, events started to get cancelled and many began to scramble for alternative ways to get film to send college coaches.
Even the Under Armour Game in Orlando and All-American contest in San Antonio had been called off this year and athletes started to look for additional options.
FLORIDA-GEORGIA IS REBORN
For those who remember when the Florida-Georgia Game was played every year in June – right before the athletes left for college. But times changed and so did the game.
With prestigious all-star game alumni include Emmitt Smith, Sammie Smith, Fred Taylor, Derrick Brooks, Marquette Smith, Deion Sanders, Garrison Hearst, Hines Ward, Champ Bailey, Takeo Spikes, Andre Hastings, Daunte Culpepper, Charlie Ward and so many others, this game became a MUST each year. There were no other national games that got in the way of these two states knocking heads for bragging rights.
This was a game – in its original form – that set standards for games across the country. Much like many of the all-star games that took place for so many years in other states – with rivals and big-time talent taking center stage, this was a game that also carried with it plenty of prestige.
With the help of some hard-working people who believe they can be the link to such a glorious past, the Florida vs Georgia All-Star Football Game, presented by DRV PNK, are set to host one of the most premier all-star high school football games in the country.
The “prestigious” game will be taking place January 17, 2021 at Traz Powell Stadium - “The Mecca” – in Miami.
With so much talent heading to south Florida for this game, you know that the media and recruiting services will not be far behind – along with small college coaches who are looking at this game as a place to find an “under-the-radar” prospect or two.
Check both rosters and you will see plenty of major college athletes as well – heading to some of the top schools nationally – a well as throughout Florida and Georgia.
