FBS teams get the bigger headlines, but FCS schools made headlines in Kansas recruiting from the Class of 2021 during the first day of the National Signing Period.
Here is a look at the high school talent from that class that hopefully will have a chance to plays in the FCS Championship Playoffs in the future.
<strong>QB, [player_tooltip player_id="35352" first="Lem" last="Wash"], 5’10”, 205, Derby, (Tennessee Tech) </strong>– Wash is a scoring and yard chewing machine. He was named to the Kansas Football Coaches Association Class 6A All-State team. The Panther senior scored 38 total touchdowns while passing for 1,313 yards and rushing for 1,292. He led Derby to the 6A State Championship. He is a winner and will bring a solid presence to the Golden Eagles locker room.
<strong>DB, [player_tooltip player_id="49682" first="Austin" last="Rosetta"], 6’3”, 195, De Soto, (South Dakota) — </strong>Rosetta is a standout defender. He can cover route runners and he can bring down ball carriers. He has been a defensive captain for De Soto and will take his leadership and field skills to the Coyotes roster.
<strong>DE, [player_tooltip player_id="35355" first="Caden" last="Reeves"], 6’2”, 255, St. Thomas Aquinas, (Southern Illinois) </strong>– Reeves is a physical defensive lineman. He finished the 2020 season with 54 tackles. He is fast for a big man and should contribute against the run and pass for the Salukis.
<strong>WR, [player_tooltip player_id="35374" first="Davin" last="Simms"], 5’11”, 175, Andover Central, (Missouri State) –</strong> Simms is a talented and a fast wide receiver. He should be a major contributor in the return game for the Bears. He caught 37 balls for 400-plus yards and six touchdowns in 2020.
<strong>OL, [player_tooltip player_id="35419" first="Danny" last="Carroll"], 6’1”, 245, St. Thomas Aquinas, (North Dakota)</strong> – Carroll was a KFCA Class 5A All-State team member. He is an excellent run and pass blocker. He will be a solid addition to the Fighting Hawks roster.
