RAPID CITY-- South Dakota has some talent on special teams, but no one might be better than Rapid City St Thomas More kicker [player_tooltip player_id="56305" first="Jack" last="Green"], who committed to South Dakota State a few weeks back after choosing the Jackrabbits over other opportunities. We caught up with Green, who is a 5-star kicker via National Kicking Rankings, to see what he is looking forward to at South Dakota State and what went into his decision to become a Jackrabbit.
Q: What impacted your decision to sign with SDSU?
Green: What I grasped from my conversations with South Dakota State is they not only care about winning but how much they care about their player’s future off the field as well, which played big into my decision to commit there.
Q: Was there any other programs that were in the running, or when you got that SDSU, you knew it was the one?
Green: I was highly considering attending Black Hills State for a while. However, once the coaches and I at SDSU started talking more and more, I knew it was the place I wanted to go.
Q: What will be the biggest football adjustment you are going to need to make to adjust to the college game as a kicker for the Jacks?
Green: The biggest adjustment I am going to have to make is that I am just focusing on the game’s kicking aspect and not defense or offense. I played both defense and offense at St. Thomas More, so I will need to narrow it down to kicking at SDSU.
Q: What’s the biggest thing you are looking forward to at the next level at SDSU?
Green: I’m extremely excited for plenty of rivalry games between South Dakota State and South Dakota.
Q: What do you plan on majoring in at SDSU, or are you undecided at the moment?
Green: I plan on majoring in accounting or business administration at SDSU.
Extra Question: You have one restaurant you have to eat at for the rest of your life, what is it?
Green: Panchero’s, which may a problem in Brookings due to them only having Qdoba!
Congratulations to [player_tooltip player_id="56305" first="Jack" last="Green"] on committing to the Jackrabbits! We look forward to watching your career in Brookings.
