The Crusaders have benefitted from players coming from some of the historic state powerhouse programs, such as Bergen Catholic and Paramus Catholic. DeNobile was arriving to Morris Catholic as a junior looking to make a splash in Morris County. That he accomplished.
DeNobile led Morris Catholic to a 7-2 record, closing out the season with an incredible six passing touchdowns in a 55-22 win over Whippany Park in Week 9, completing 70 percent of his throws.
On the season, the junior threw for over 2,300 yards and 24 touchdowns to eight interceptions. His completing percentage was at 63 percent and his quarterback rating was 107.5.
Morris Catholic finished the season on a six-game winning streak.
The Crusaders put up 40-plus points four times in 2020. This is a program, under head coach John Hack, that continues to grow.
On film, DeNobile is calm in the pocket. He throws a good deep ball and can scramble and roll out and make plays down the field. The junior is capable of putting the ball in tight spaces. He’s not afraid of tucking the ball in and running down the field, evading defenders in the process.
DeNobile emerged as one of the top passers in the state, and the numbers will reflect that, but there is still room for growth. There will be a lot of expectations going into his senior season.
DeNobile took advantage of his first season in Denville, and the expectations and potential will skyrocket going into his senior year.
