1. Nate Anderson (SR-RB) – Westwood High School (Round Rock, TX)
Westwood came away with a comfortable win against Stony Point, 42-15, on one of the few Monday night games thanks to COVID-19 changing the scheduling of many teams. Anderson’s play against the Tigers was a huge part in the win for Westwood as he rushed for 101 yards and scored three touchdowns. This was Anderson’s biggest game this season according to his MaxPreps profile as this was the first game he broke 100 rushing yards and the first game in which he has scored. Momentum goes a long way in football so Anderson’s name will be one to watch as Westwood continues its season.
Come rain, sleet, or snow nothing could stop the Warriors tonight. Congrats on a great win over SPHS. 1-0 in district and just getting started. Go Wood @coach_awood pic.twitter.com/3aGkMLbd9A

2. Dior Bradfield (JR-QB) – Weiss High School (Pflugerville, TX)
Bradfield has gotten a game ball once already and he deserves one once again with 326 passing yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions. His play kept Weiss in the game against Hendrickson, but it was not enough as the Hawks inched by the Wolves, 49-49, on Thursday. Despite the loss, Bradfield had an excellent game, finishing with a 124.8 quarterback rating and completing 31 out of 43 of his passes.
3. Jeremiah Robinson (JR-WR) – Weiss High School (Pflugerville, TX)
Robinson was Bradfield’s favorite target on Thursday as he finished the game with six receptions for 81 yards and three touchdowns. Although, this should not come as a surprise as Robinson has been Bradfield’s favorite target almost all season, but this was Robinson’s highest-scoring game so far.
4. Israel Morgan (SR-RB) – Round Rock High School (Round Rock, TX)
Not many running backs can say they have scored five touchdowns in a single game but Morgan can. In total, he had 252 rushing yards for five touchdowns including a 64-yard dash in Round Rock’s 55-9 win over McNeil on Friday. Morgan now totals 11 rushing touchdowns on the season and 911 yards. Although he has had a 200-plus yard game before, this performance has been his best thus far and it will be worth watching since history repeats itself.

5. Richard Reece (JR-RB) – Bellville High School (Bellville, TX)
The junior running back out of Bellville also had himself a rushing game with 206 yards and three touchdowns. Reece has had a season to say the least, as he now totals 1,471 yards and 20 touchdowns and this performance against La Marque is not even his best. Bellville defeated La Marque, 47-10, on Friday and has just one more game for Reece to continue to show his talent this season.
6. Tucker Harrison (JR-DL) – Vandegrift High School (Austin, TX)
Vandegrift came away with a dominant win over Cedar Ridge, 35-6, on Friday, and that had a lot to do with the Viper defense. Harrison’s name sticks out in that performance with his two sacks and seven total tackles, including three for a loss. He now has three sacks this season and 22 total tackles. It will be worth watching this Viper defense as Vandegrift looks to dominate its conference.
7. Blake Simpson (SR-RB) – Liberty Hill High School (Liberty Hill, TX)
Yet another dominant rushing attack this week was Simpson’s 213 yards and five touchdowns against Marble Falls. His performance helped Liberty Hill defeat the Mustangs 40-7 on Friday. Simpson essentially put the team on his back alongside senior running back Trey Seward. The Liberty Hill rushing attack does not show any signs of slowing down so keep an eye out.
8. Andon Thomas (JR-LB) – Liberty Hill High School (Liberty Hill, TX)
Although Simpson stole the headline with his five touchdowns, Thomas was a force to be reckoned with on the defense with his three sacks and 14 total tackles. Marble Falls just could not stop the Liberty Hill defense as the team totaled six sacks, with half being from Thomas. The defensive line clearly has some fire and offensive lines will need to pay close attention to Thomas moving forward.
9. Jesse Medina (SO-QB) – Johnson High School (Buda, TX)
The young quarterback out of Buda threw for 342 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions in the win against Lehman. The Jaguars came away with a 44-20 victory over the Lobo with a lot of those points coming from Medina and his favorite targets.
10. Ethan McAlister (SO-WR) – Johnson High School (Buda, TX)
One of his targets was McAlister on Friday, who had eight receptions for 184 yards and three touchdowns. He had a dominant receiving performance against a Lehman secondary that just could not contain him or his teammate junior wide receiver Rich Kelly, who also had six receptions for 149 yards and two touchdowns. Once the Johnson passing attack can get going, it seems it can not be stopped, so defenses better be prepared.
I love seeing how much these kids care about each other, and how excited they get for each other when they succeed. #1-0 #EZParty @McalisterCade @richxkelly @ccrabtrey04 @JadenGonzales16 @cswinzer @westonbailey32 @JesseMedinaIII pic.twitter.com/lmOg7B2rvP

11. Ian Markum (SR-RB) – Oglesby High School (Oglesby, TX)
Probably the most electric rushing performance out of them all this week was Markum out of Oglesby. He rushed for 223 yards and seven touchdowns. Yes, seven touchdowns. Oglesby dominated Buckholts on Friday, 82-32, and that was in large part due to Markum’s unbelievable performance. He and his teammate senior running back Davin Barrow, who rushed for 226 yards and two touchdowns, just obliterated the Buckholts defense. To make matters more interesting, this was Markum’s best performance by far as he did not even come close to breaking 100 yards in a game before this one.
12. Kadyn Johnson (SR-QB) – Abbott High School (Abbott, TX)
The mobile quarterback also wanted to have some rushing fun this week as he rushed for 239 yards and five touchdowns in Abbott’s 51-6 win over Aquilla on Friday. Johnson has had himself a season to say the least as he has rushed for 2,402 yards and 52 touchdowns, according to his MaxPreps profile. By my calculations, he averages 5.7 touchdowns per game which is just unfounded based on his MaxPreps statistics.
13. Mason Groff (SR-OL) – Blanco High School (Blanco, TX)
Although Blanco had a great offensive showing, defeating Comfort 42-28 on Friday, Groff made a huge showing in the trenches protecting his quarterback and creating lanes for the rushing attack. He totaled five pancake blocks against Comfort, helping his team dominate on the ground all night. Groff has been an immovable object this season as he totals 29 pancake blocks including eight against Luling. It seems as though no one can go against this offensive lineman toe to toe.
Great win last night against comfort
So blessed to be with this great team

14. Cade Walker (JR-DB) – Lorena High School (Lorena, TX)
Lorena came away with a 48-14 win over Caldwell, showing excellent defensive play. The name that sticks out the most on the Lorena defense is Walker, who had three interceptions in the game alongside his 10 total tackles, including two for a loss. This was the first game this season Walker recorded an interception and he made sure Caldwell did not forget it by stacking two others on top of it as well.
15. John (Jax) Crockett (SR-DB) – Westlake High School (Austin, TX)
Another excellent performance on the defensive side of the ball came from Westlake’s Crockett, who had two interceptions in Westlake’s 59-6 win over Hays on Friday. He recorded his first interception this season, according to MaxPreps, and helped Westlake come away with a comfortable win over the Rebels.
16. Kyle Brown Kyle Brown 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Vista Ridge | 2021 TX (SR-QB) – Vista Ridge High School (Cedar Park, TX)
Vista Ridge defeated Westwood 48-21 on Friday and the victory was in large part because of Brown’s 302 passing yards and four-touchdown performance. Brown has appeared multiple times this season on previews and game ball articles, and it should not come as a surprise. He has had an excellent season, throwing for 1,734 yards and 22 touchdowns with just four interceptions. He has had among the best quarterback performances in the Central Texas area.
So, you say you want to play QB? @KyleDBrown12 stands tall in the pocket, gets blasted, but delivers a strike to @KwadeHegtvedt4 for a big play against Westwood on Saturday. @vrhsfootball #ChicksDigScars #StandAndDeliver #ToughDude pic.twitter.com/a0QWaYCL8r
