While the pandemic continues to make an impact on a daily and weekly basis, it appeared that St. Peter’s Prep and Bergen Catholic were well on their way to do battle to decide the top team in the state.
That will have to wait, if it still happens at all, as schedules continue to change. The St. Peter’s Prep football team will be shut down until Nov. 20, according to the school’s football coach and athletic director, Rich Hansen.
St. Peter’s Prep hopes to play Seton Hall Prep on Thanksgiving. The team will also have to sit out for the two-game stretch following the regular season.
As for Bergen Catholic, it will play undefeated Delbarton next week and then Seton Hall Prep in Week 8. The 4-0 team will meet Don Bosco Prep on Thanksgiving in a rescheduled game if all goes to plan.
