With a six game schedule in New Jersey, we are officially halfway through the regular season. As we enter Week 4, these are the biggest games to keep an eye on Friday night.
St. Joe’s Montvale at Don Bosco
Some of the state’s best talents will take the field in this one. [player_tooltip player_id="27865" first="Audric" last="Estime"] will look to continue his dynamic play at the running back position. Both teams have played an extremely tough schedule to this point and will look to get back on track.
Monroe at South Brunswick
Monroe will look for some revenge in this one after a 2019 loss to South Brunswick. Aidan McLaughlin and Tyler Scott will lead a run heavy offense. South Brunswick will lean on sophomore Vince Jairdullo under center. There are not many starters for South Brunswick that return in this one.
Sayreville at Rahway
Sayreville picked up their first win last week with a 33-6 victory over Franklin. Their defense will have to come up big in this one to slow down Rahway’s passing attack led by Nasir Arribas. They have a strong ground game which makes them difficult to defend.
Parsippany Hills at River Dell
This is a rematch of last year’s North 2, Group 2 semi-final. Parsippany Hills came up with a 24-14 victory in that one. This is a newly scheduled game after two other opponents were forced to cancel.
Wayne Hills at Northern Highlands
Wayne Hills has won all three of their games this season by one score or less. They know how to win close games because of their incredible coaching and leadership. Their defense has only allowed 24 points all season. A Northern Highlands win would create an interesting final two weeks in the standings.
Colts Neck at Freehold Township
These two Shore Conference foes have started 3-0 and have done it in many different ways. Colts Neck’s Joe Barsky has 711 rushing yards already this season. Freehold Township features an air raid offense that loves to throw the football.
Lenape at Rancocas Valley
Lenape and Rancocas Valley always put on a show when they take the field. Lenape is one of the top teams in the state this season and Rancocas Valley has won their first two games of the season. Lenape’s defense has allowed just seven points in two games.
Haddonfield at Willingboro
Haddonfield scored four touchdowns in the second half against Collingswood in a shutout victory. A-Shun Davis will lead Willingboro in this one after their game against Williamstown was cancelled last week due to concerns with the weather.
Clearview at Timber Creek
Clearview has not played a game yet so they will be amped up for their season opener. They will have to deal with [player_tooltip player_id="27971" first="Donovan" last="Leary"] and a talented Timber Creek offense. [player_tooltip player_id="27977" first="Jihaad" last="Campbell"] controls the defense. The junior already has 20 tackles and four sacks this season.
