Top Offensive Performances: Week Four

Top Offensive Performances: Week Four

Another week, another group of dominant offensive playmakers! This week brought us a little bit of everything. We have young guys breaking out. We have stars being stars. We have offensive linemen imposing their will on defensive front sevens. Everything you could ask for we have here! Check out the stat lines, film, and my quick notes of what each player did this week! Wisconsin is loaded with some special talent. Zander Rockow, Sophomore RB- Regis Offensive Performance: 4 Carries, 145 Yards, 3 TDs, 1 Reception, 13 Yards Zander is a huge athlete and is a big play waiting to happen on every snap. The blend of power, speed, and agility that he plays with while already being 6’1" 220 is special. The offense that Regis runs also allows Zander a great opportunity to show off his vision and burst. Both are next level. He identified lanes and got to top speed within a few strides. Keep an eye on this kid. He has two and a half seasons of development ahead of him. Crazy to think about. Zander vs Neillsville [player_tooltip player_id="31062" first="Kane" last="Harpster"], Senior WR- Oconomowoc Offensive Performance: 8 Receptions, 181 Yards, 2 TDs, 1 Carry, 3 Yards Check out the burst in the film from his matchup with Arrowhead. Wow! That is what he has to offer. A big frame with freaky athleticism. His size already gives him an advantage at the catch point, but it is just plain unfair to have the separation skills that he plays with. He is a very good route runner too. He breaks are so sharp. It throws off the DB. Add in his ability to "Moss" any DB and you have a special receiver. Kane vs Arrowhead [player_tooltip player_id="30830" first="Jake" last="Rockweiler"], Senior RB- Elkhorn Offensive Performance: 15 Carries, 196 Yards, 1 TD Jake’s patience was on full display in this film. Elkhorn did a ton of pulling to lead block on Jake’s carries and he showed that he had the patience to allow his blocks to develop and then the burst to hit the hole as soon as it was there. Once in the open field Rockweiler has the speed to take it to the house. I really like how calm he plays in traffic and then how quickly he can transition to using his speed to make plays in the open field. Jake vs Burlington [player_tooltip player_id="30776" first="Malachi" last="Munoz"], Senior OL- Sheboygan Falls Offensive Performance: 368 Team Rushing Yards, 4 Team Rushing TDs Malachi was a key member of an offensive line unit that ran through, around, and over the Berlin defense last Friday night. Munoz has what you look for. Elite size at 6’4" 265 lbs, he has the athleticism to pull from his guard position and lead block. His power and ability to drive through defenders at the point of contact led to several pancakes this week as well as several plays where he drove defenders completely out of the play. I love how he plays through the whistle too. You are never going to see him standing around. He is aggressive, strong, and always looking for someone to hit. Malachi vs Berlin [player_tooltip player_id="30849" first="Quinn" last="Taege"], Senior TE- Freedom Offensive Performance: 13 Receptions, 99 Yards, 2 TDs Freedom used Quinn perfectly this week. They got the ball to him quickly and let him use his best traits to make plays. Thanks to his 6’3" 200+ lbs frame, strength, and contact balance Quinn is able to turn a lot of his short targets into big plays. One defender can’t take him down. It takes a team effort and even then Taege always fell forward. When he does go down field he has the frame to box out and come down with the ball and he does a great job of catching with his hands and not his body creating even more separation between the ball and defenders. Quinn vs Little Chute Jack Janke, Junior WR- Ellsworth Offensive Performance: 10 Receptions, 241 Yards, 3 TDs Jack checks off all the boxes at the receiver position. He has plenty of size at 6’1’’ 185. He has game breaking speed. He attacks the ball in the air. There is no waiting for it. He goes and gets it with strong hands to make sure nobody else can. The way he can contort his body while in the air shows off impressive body control. The best part is he keeps getting better and better every week. With a year left to develop, the sky is the limit for Jack. Jack’s First 4 Weeks [player_tooltip player_id="30819" first="Cam" last="Devine"], Senior RB- Brookfield Central Offensive Performance: 35 Carries, 195 Rushing Yards, 2 TDs, 3 Receptions, 44 Receiving Yards, 1 Competion, 3 Passing Yards, 1 TD Cam is a huge back that is able to muscle his way to a lot of yards after contact. He doesn’t waste time with jukes or dancing. Instead he goes a with a north- south mentality and lets defenders fall off of him as he grinds out yards. The versatility he offers gives him a ton of potential. He could be a TE, RB, or flip to defense at the next level. Devine is a do it all prospect. Check out his film and all the ways that they use him in the span of one game. Cam vs Sussex Paris Roby, Junior OL- Kenosha Bradford Offensive Performance: 161 Team Passing Yards, 2 TDs, 219 Team Rushing Yards, 1 TD Roby is a dancing bear at the offensive guard position. His athleticism and ability to pull and hit his target consistently is impressive to watch. He did it over and over this past week as he helped bulldoze running lanes. His body control and easy movement skills at 6’3" 286 lbs is wild. He is so light on his feet until he makes contact. Then he is able to man handle defenders at the point of contact and beyond. There are multiple clips from this week where he tossed defensive tackles to the ground with ease. You have to check him out! Paris vs Indian Trail Jon Mathieu, Senior RB- Sheboygan Falls Offensive Performance: 33 Carries, 366 Yards, 4 TDs What a night for Jon! This kid knows how to run through contact. Unless he is on the ground his legs are churning for extra yards. His balance jumps off this week’s film. He wasn’t going to go down unless forced and the defense was having a hard time forcing him down. Before contact, Jon did a great job of setting up blocks so that he wasn’t contacted by a defender until he was 5+ yards downfield. Jon vs Berlin Kraig Armstrong, Senior RB- Mauston Offensive Performance: 31 Carries, 226 Yards, 4 TDs, 1 2 Pt. Conv. This is some fun film to watch. Kraig carved up the Wisconsin Dells all night long. He did it between the tackles and out in space. His game focuses mainly on vision, burst, and agility in tight spaces. The vision he plays with is so important too as it allows him to see gaps and then set up defenders for him to outrun or make miss. His 5’9" 175 lbs frame doesn’t allow him to be a power back, but he is electric with the ball in his hands. Several times he made my eyes bug out as he would make several defenders miss on plays. Kraig vs Wisconsin Dells
