Lafayette High School is loaded with offensive talent, and they were a dominant force under the lights. Not only they were unstoppable on the offensive side, they were able to stop the dynamic duo of Jordan Tate and Andre Butts all night long. Both sides of the ball were gifted with weapons, but the Lancers were too much to handle for the Colts.
“As an offense, we all played great. We scored each drive while our offense was in,” Micek said. The Lancers’ offense moved the ball down the field with ease. Everyone had their share of the spotlight.
Lafayette running back Mitchell Hoffman was a recking ball in the run game. He was excellent running the ball down hill, gaining extra yards for first downs. With a quick screen from Micek, Hoffman was able to jog into the end zone untouched to give the Lancers the lead. He also scored again to stretch the lead 17-0. He completed 29 out of his 34 pass attempts, throwing for 301 yards and 4 touchdowns. Micek has a high quarterback I.Q. and has tremendous vision on the field. He took charge of the whole offense, and they followed his lead.
“My lineman blocked great all night, and my receivers were where I needed them to be.” Micek said.
Micek had great chemistry with his receivers. He had numerous weapons to throw down the field to. The Colt’s defense had no answer on how to stop the air attack from Micek.
