Jackson Liberty: Jackson Liberty will be forced to miss Friday’s game against Point Pleasant Boro and next week’s game against Neptune due to COVID-19. The team, coming off a 16-14 win over Toms River East this past Monday night, will attempt to reschedule the Oct. 16 game against Neptune. Jackson Liberty’s next game will be against Marlboro on Oct. 24. Ocean County has been affected by the coronavirus in recent days, and Jackson Liberty is the latest team in the area forced to shut down.
Gateway: The Woodbury Heights school has been forced to shut down for at least two weeks due to positive COVID-19 tests at the school. Saturday’s football game against Paulsboro has been postponed as well as the Oct. 17 meeting with Audubon. Gateway, a Gloucester County school, lost its season opener to Haddon Heights, 42-0.
Bergen Tech: Bergen Tech was forced to postpone Thursday night’s game against Dickinson to Oct. 22 due to a positive case.
Clearview: Clearview remains shut down due to a positive COVID-19 test. The team is scheduled to play at Williamstown next Friday night. Games against Delsea and Highland were canceled.
Elizabeth: Elizabeth had a player test positive this past Monday. It had to cancel games against Ridge and Union. Ridge will instead play at Cranford this week.
Kearny: Kearny had to cancel its Thursday night game against Bayonne due to a positive test over the week. Bayonne takes on Paterson Eastside instead.
Linden: The Tigers will continue to have to sit out following a positive test. Games against Woodbridge and Iselin Kennedy to open the year have been canceled.
Newton: The Braves have been forced to miss their first set of games due to COVID-19. Newton will miss this week’s game against Hackettstown. It’s scheduled to play High Point on Oct. 16.
Matawan: Matawan, a Monmouth County school, continues to sit out due to its quarantine. The team will look to play St. John Vianney on Oct. 16.
Metuchen: Athletic activities were put on hold this week at Metuchen. The team, 0-1 following a 20-7 loss to Spotswood in the season opener, was scheduled to take on Middlesex, who is now playing Pingry this week. Metuchen is next scheduled to play at North Plainfield Oct. 16.
Morristown-Beard: COVID-19 has affected the student body at Morristown-Beard, and the athletic program will quarantine for two weeks. Mo-Beard, in Morris County, was originally supposed to play Pingry.
Pennsville: Pennsville will be unable to play Glassboro this week after a positive test was revealed over the week. The team is 1-0 after a 20-7 victory over Lower Cape May last Friday.
Ramsey: Ramsey will be forced to miss this week’s game against Pascack Hills. The team is scheduled to meet Point Pleasant Borough on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Scotch Plains-Fanwood: The Raiders had two positive cases within their athletic program, therefore canceling games against Colonia and this week against Cranford. Cranford will instead play against Ridge Friday night.
