Put together a strong junior campaign with 61 receptions, just under 1,000 yards receiving, and seven touchdowns while averaging 94 yards per game. A plus athlete good straight line speed he was the go to guy for Granite Hills in 2019. He’s a natural pass catcher with excellent hands that continuously makes contested catches using his body control and tracking ability. Explosive playmaker after the catch. Expect him to be near the top of receiving leaderboard in the Central section this season.
17. Aidan Rodriguez, Orosi, 2021, 5’8” 150 lbs.
A quick and shifty receiver coming out of the slot. Had a strong statistical year in 2019 with 55 receptions for 915 yards and 8 TDs. Strong release at the LOS with good initial quickness off the ball and a good ability to avoid jam using a variety of nods and quick/sharp lateral cuts. Excels as a deep threat where he can out compete defenders for the ball. He’s a crafty route runner that shows good ability to gather and cut then come out of his breaks with burst.
18. Loren Johnson, Garces Memorial, 6’1.5” 180 lbs.
He’s an explosive vertical threat with the ability to stretch the defense using his straight line speed to get behind the secondary and his leaping ability to come down with 50/50 balls. He does a great job tracking/adjusting to the ball in the air and then attacking it at its highest point. He excels on the deep ball but displayed good ability to change directions and accelerate out of his break to create separation. He’ll be one to watch in the explosive Garces Memorial offense.
19. Daizon Allen, Bullard, 2022, 6’0” 160 lbs.
Allen flashs an explosive first step and good transition in and out of his breaks. He shows reliable hands and a good ability to adjust to the ball in the air. He’s a strong route runner that creates separation using a combination of speed and sharp cuts. Possesses great potential after the catch with the ability to make defenders miss in the open field. He showed great potential as a sophomore on varsity in 2019 and has continued to develop and improve.
20. Jayden Davis, Bullard, 2022, 6’1” 170 lbs.
An up and coming receiver that showed potential and upside as a sophomore on varsity in 2019. He’s a plus athlete with a natural ability at the wide out position. Confident and consistent with his hands, he shows good extension to snatch the ball out of the air. I like his ability after the catch, demonstrating speed, quickness, and toughness to pick up YAC. Has a good long frame to build on as he progresses and develops.
