Daniel Daly, Wayne Hills, Sr. – Daly recorded 76 tackles (50 solo) and had five tackles for loss last season at linebacker for Wayne Hills. He recovered a fumble as well. Wayne Hills takes on Ridgewood in the season opener.
Mac Carlin, Seneca, Sr. – Carlin was a force on the defensive line last year for Seneca. He was tied for tops in sacks along with junior Adam Klenk with seven, and he was also a top tackler. Seneca takes on Cherry Hill West Friday night.
Joe Giordano, Westwood, Jr. – Giordano ran for 540 yards last season, including a pair of 100-yard performances. He exploded for 132 yards and two scores on 16 carries in a win over Fort Lee, and then he rushed for 112 yards on 22 carries with a pair of scores in a victory over Ramsey. Westwood takes on Lakeland in its season opener.
Devon Turner, Dumont, Jr. – Turner was a guy who was capable of taking it to the house on any play last season for Dumont. He totaled 788 yards on 163 carries with seven touchdowns last season. He had three standout performances. Turner rushed for 152 yards and two scores in a tight loss to Ramsey, and then he ran for 100 yards each in victories over Fort Lee and Bergen Tech. Dumont will play at Pascack Hills Friday night.
Matt Quetel Matt Quetel 5'10" | RB Phillipsburg | 2021 State NJ , Phillipsburg, Sr. – Don’t forget the name Matt Quetel Matt Quetel 5'10" | RB Phillipsburg | 2021 State NJ . Phillipsburg is a known football school, and there are some names that still don’t get enough attention. Quetel had a monster junior year for the Stateliners, totaling 1,302 yards and 16 touchdowns on 222 carries. He ran for over 100 yards in six games, including a jaw-dropping 212 yards and four scores against Hunterdon Central, the team Phillipsburg opens with this year. He followed that performance with 164 yards and three touchdowns on the ground against Ridge in an absolute thriller in Phillipsburg.
