Our next and last group to round out our breakdown of the skill position players on offense for 2023 are the wide receivers. This group is one of the largest in terms of the number of players in our top 40 from one position, and it is also one of the deepest position groups in this class. This class of WRs has a little bit of everything from big strong flex tight ends, explosive home run hitters. small and crafty slots, and even a few who have a little bit of all of these traits in their games. Let's take a look at the top WRs in the class of 2023. Our prospect rankings are available to our subscribers only! Now is a great time to subscribe! At 6'4" 220 Lbs, Jackson is a mismatch with his size and his athleticism against just about anyone he goes up against. Jackson projects best as a tight end at the next level but for now is used in Choctaw's offense in a variety of roles including tight end, wide receiver, and as an H-back hybrid out of the backfield. RJ came into the year as possibly the second or third option in this passing attack, but due to injuries from some of their star players like [player_tooltip player_id="38496" first="Chase" last="Jackson"], RJ's role in this offense has grown exponentially. It is not often that we see a player with RJ's size and athleticism at such a young age, so it will be fun to follow his recruiting journey and see where he chooses to play college ball in a few years. [player_tooltip player_id="47959" first="Micah" last="Tease"] - Booker T Washington Similar to RJ, [player_tooltip player_id="47959" first="Micah" last="Tease"] has had to step up his game in a big way due to injuries around him and he has done his part to pick up the slack and then some. Micah is a gifted athlete who explodes off the line on every route and usually leaves DBs in the dust before they even have a chance at getting their hands on him. He has shown some flashes of brilliant route running but is not a finished product in that department, but that will come with time. Tease is the real deal and should be at or near the top of every recruiter's board for the class of 2023. [player_tooltip player_id="45651" first="Cole" last="Adams"] - Owasso Owasso's offense has been led by a group of underclassmen this season and at the forefront of that group is [player_tooltip player_id="45651" first="Cole" last="Adams"]. Adams has absolutely exploded onto the scene this year, scoring a touchdown in nearly every game he has played in and has arguably been breakout QB Austin Haven's go-to target. Adams is not the biggest or strongest receiver, and that may be a turnoff for some college coaches, but it shouldn't be. Adams is not your average gym rat slot receiver with "deceptive speed" or a guy that has to be crafty to win. Adams has great open-field speed and acceleration, is explosive in and out of his cuts, and has been one of the top deep threats in the entire state while playing in the toughest class. If you had any doubts on [player_tooltip player_id="45651" first="Cole" last="Adams"] to this point I'd suggest you drop them now and hop on the train before it's too late. [player_tooltip player_id="55156" first="Luke" last="Hasz"] - Bixby Speaking of size, if you don't like smaller slot receivers and instead want a big receiver who can bring the wood than [player_tooltip player_id="55156" first="Luke" last="Hasz"] is the player for you. As a sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="55156" first="Luke" last="Hasz"] is 6'4" and close to 220 Lbs and is quickly becoming one of my favorite players in the state because of the nastiness and toughness he carries himself with on the field. Just last week I was praising him for his willingness and effectiveness to layout defenders in the run game and low and behold he had another highlight-reel type hit on a Carl Albert defensive back in their blowout victory over the Titans last Friday night. Hasz probably projects best as a tight end at the college level, however, I would not be surprised if he stayed at wide reciever because he has the speed and athleticism to do so. [player_tooltip player_id="55156" first="Luke" last="Hasz"] is a name to remember and a player who is on a fast track to the top of the recruiting circuit in Oklahoma for the class of 2023. [player_tooltip player_id="38782" first="Morgan" last="Pearson"] - Plainview [player_tooltip player_id="38782" first="Morgan" last="Pearson"] is a player we have had ranked at or near the top of this wide receiver class since the beginning of the season and for good reason. He has stepped and become the go-to guy for this Plainview offense out wide and has shown some really encouraging traits. Pearson has some of the strongest hands in the class, is a good route runner, and is as tough as they come. Pearson never shies away from contact and often times initiates it with defensive backs at the second level. However, while Pearson is one of the top receivers in the class, his collegiate career may be brightest on the baseball diamond as he already has multiple division 1 offers to play baseball. [player_tooltip player_id="38715" first="Camden" last="Crooks"] - Cushing I feel like I have written about [player_tooltip player_id="38715" first="Camden" last="Crooks"] this season more times than I actually have and it's probably because he produces in a big way week after week. This sophomore from Cushing has been one of the most productive receivers in the entire state, averaging over 120 yards per game and 16 yards per catch. After having a breakout freshman year people wondered if he could replicate it as a sophomore and I think he's done more than have a repeat of his freshman year as he looks faster and more polished than he did a year ago. Don't sleep on [player_tooltip player_id="38715" first="Camden" last="Crooks"]. [player_tooltip player_id="57163" first="Mason" last="Ford"] - Coweta [player_tooltip player_id="57163" first="Mason" last="Ford"] is a player I was introduced to just recently and I must say I like what I've seen from the Sophomore out of Coweta. With star dual-threat quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="38687" first="Gage" last="Hamm"] throwing to him, Ford has no trouble getting the ball out in space when he is open and he may be one of the quicker receivers in this class in terms of short-area burst. As Coweta's go-to target this season in the passing game Ford already has over 500 yards and 6 touchdowns receiving. [player_tooltip player_id="57164" first="Diego" last="Ramos"] - Vian When most fans think of Vian their mind usually goes to Javyn and [player_tooltip player_id="38502" first="Solomon" last="Wright"], however, [player_tooltip player_id="57164" first="Diego" last="Ramos"] is a name that should definitely be on everyone's radar moving forward. Coming into the season we had Ramos as a DB but made the swtich over to WR because he has quickly become one of Vian's top pass catchers in 2020. Diego has done most of his damage in the RedZone on jump balls and quick throws but that will change as he becomes more comfortable in the offense [player_tooltip player_id="57167" first="Taelen" last="Laird"] - Woodward The last of our top WRs in the class of 2023 is Woodward's [player_tooltip player_id="57167" first="Taelen" last="Laird"]. Laird is a tall WR at 6'3" but he also has a long frame which he uses to his advantage often over defenders of all size. Laird has great deep speed for his size and has good ball skills on offense and on defense as a safety. The only knock on Laird to this point is that he is a little light for his size at 165 pounds. If he can fill out his frame and build some strength to fight off press coverage easier, colleges will be lining up for this tall, athletic WR.
